What Are the Ways the Star Wars Prequels Could Be Improved???

I think another way to measure how popular a movie is can be judged how well it holds up overtime. I think the prequels might be hated a little less than when they came out but i'm not sure that hatred has turned to love or even like.
Also I'm not sure if the prequels have made a lot of new fans over the years, which is different from the classic movies because you have tons of fans of those movies who were to young or not even born when they first came out. At least that's my impression and not sure about how acurate is.

Seeing as how I'm one of the few people on the planet that didn't like Avatar I can understand not agreeing with the majority. But if we're trying to measure a films true popularity by more than just box office then that's about as close as you can come to doing so.
Unfortunately, that is an extremely unreliable measure. Otherwise, "Transformers" are among the greatest films of all time.

Agree to disagree then, since I'm not saying "Han Solo by another name" but a skeptic character who adds another perspective. Literature is fraught with examples, that could work very well in the PT, and not feel like a rehash of Han.

It could be interesting if Padme had been a lot more skeptical of the Jedi or at least aspects of them, hopefully rewriting the story so she doesn't come off as ungrateful for the help they gave her, she could openly suggest or urge that Anakin leave the Jedi Order and that there are other ways of doing good.

Did you get a chance to see them in theatres in 97? Or did you see the Prequels in theatres?

I saw the Special Edition and PT films in theaters. The crowds were large at all times.

Of the OT, I only saw RotJ in theaters on its original release. I saw EBS on a rerelease shortly before RotJ came out. I hadn't seen ANH in a theater until the Special Edition came out, as I was born in 1977 (I was present in the theater and likely heard ANH there as I was born about two days after by parents saw it). I didn't start going to theaters until 1982, but that was a good year for sci-fi/adventure/fantasy films.

Yeah, I remember not wanting to go because it was my sister and her friends inviting me, but I went, and it was pretty awesome. Before that, I had a copy of A New Hope that my dad taped off TV. it was missing the first 30 minutes of so and started about when Luke went searching for the droids. I always thought that was the beginning. And I had rented ESB & RotJ a number of times on VHS. But prior to 1997-1999, SW were equals among my other fav childhood movies, like Last Starfighter, Neverending Story, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Princess Bride, etc.

I saw the first "Star Wars" in 1997 in a theater but I didn't see the others and i'm not sure as to why. I did see all the prequels in the movie theater. I actually had to wait to see the recent movies at home because I don't have a car and also because I am heavy enough were I have problems fitting in a seat.
The official first "Star Wars" movie I ever saw in a movie theater was "Return of the Jedi" but I don't count this because I was really young and not even a Sci-Fi fan at the time. I remember my grandma took me and she got me some popcorn but soon as I ate it all I was ready to go home even though the movie had basically just started.

I know how the Prequels could be improved . . . leave them the hell alone. Unless Disney want to do a few tweaks with the visual effects.

Well, adding scenes is not exactly minor, and I would not mention Han shooting first either ;)

That scene never struck me as worth commenting on.

What about putting deleted scenes back in, like with Red Leader and Biggs, or Solo and Jabba?

They're still minor corrections that do not change the story overall.

This change would have made the Prequels a little bit better.

I would disagree on both counts. Han not shooting first fundamentally softens the character's presentation. It would be just as significant if they added in his girlfriend scene back to the edit as well.

They may not change the story's outcome, but the pacing and the characterization are changed, which has a broader impact overall.

Oh, gimme a frickin' break! For one, they shoot simultaneously. Two, It happens so fast that you wouldn't even know unless....internet.

I can still see the changes, and not because "internet." Give me a break if you think that the only reason it bothers me is because "internet"

It does change the character's presentation. Whether that matters is up to the viewer. So, it bothers me, but not you. And that's ok

Greedo shooting first bothered me a lot, too. It completely changed Han's character and personality as a shoot first, ask questions later rogue and scoundrel who lives on the very edge of the law and frequently steps over it. You don't have to be protesting George online or outside Skywalker Ranch to know that it was one of the dumbest changes if not THE dumbest change he ever made to any of the Special Edition, DVD or Bluray edits.

George may have changed moviemaking and be a creative genius, but even revolutionary figures in history with incredible talents can be clueless and wrong and make the wrong choices. Greedo shooting first was just sloppy pandering and badly executed, even in the later edits of the film.

But if it wasn't for the internet, you likely wouldn't know. And on the current release, you cannot see anything. You would have to stop and go frame by frame to even tell.

Moreover, who's to say Greedo didn't shoot? In the original cut, you don't see the shot at all; just a bunch of smoke. Greedo's head still flops down on the table dead in any version.

Please explain how Han's character is changed...
