What Are The Names Of Your Kids? Or What Would You Name Them?

My daughter is Elizabeth Josephine. We wanted a traditional first name and Josephine was my mother's first name. My older son is Gareth Thomas--a good Welsh name and a second name we liked--and the younger son is David Francis, Francis being a family name on my husband's side of the family.

I wanted to make sure our kids had names with traditional spellings since my name (Mary Ann) that can be spelled many different ways and I know what a pain in the arse it is to constantly have one's name spelled incorrectly. This idea worked swimmingly while living in the UK but when we moved back to Canada for 2 years Gareth's name was constantly changed to Garth or Garrett.

Josephine is both my grandmother and my sister's name, and is also one I would probably consider for a future child.

My kids are "Boogie," "Doodle" and "Scooby," but only when I'm trying to embarrass them.

We went with mainly Biblical names:

Deborah Elizabeth
Juda Michelle
Micah Andrew
Elizabeth Dana

My maternal grandmother's name was Juanita. We're not Hispanic- that was the name of a popular song the year she was born. Her mother's name was Maacha- not sure that's the right spelling, but it's biblical.
