What are some of your guilty pleasure movies?

BUM, BUM, BUM, BUM, "KRAKOW'' FLAAASH!!! AHAHHHHHH!!! HE'S THE SAVIOR OF THE UNIVERSE!!:guffaw:I just LOVE this movie!

"Mortal Kombat" is okay.
Ooooh - Mortal Kombat. Good one. Can't bring myself to really find much pleasure in the sequel, though. Even guilty pleasure.

This is pretty much exactly what I was going to say. The first one is awesome, but I felt shameful after watching the second. When it got to the bit with the Mileena mud wrestling I knew my self respect was all gone

Yeah, that's one of the worst sequels and one of the worst overall movies I've ever seen. Really makes you appreciate the first one more. I took three people to see that movie with me and I still feel bad about that.

Tremors (The first one...cheesy, funny lines, and a plot and characters so absurd it's hilarious...it's so bad, it's good!)

Logan's Run
.

300. (Utter jingoistic historically-inaccurate bullshit/macho Bush-era white-supremacists wet dream...but damn, *HELL* of a movie!)

Highlander.

Zardoz.

One Crazy Summerand Better Off Dead.

Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death
.

Kentucky Fried Movi
e & Amazon Women on the Moon .

Chasing Amy, Clerks, Clerks II...

Mindwalk.

The Tao of Steve.

Vanilla Sky.

and yeah...Dune.

Blade.

and...uhm...*cough*...Ultraviolet. (I know, I KNOW!!!)

*cough*

Spacecamp.

Howard the Duck: I have never met anybody but my wife (who likes it too) to whom I would admit a love for this movie. Some of my favorite scenes are towards the end when they are fighting against the monster-possessed scientist played by Jeffrey Jones.

Pee Wee's Big Adventure: Quirky, silly, juvenile but a surprisingly enjoyable movie that never really gets old. Fun to watch on a lark.

Ernest Goes To Camp: I don't know if this would be considered a "guilty pleasure" or not but a fun movie with a positive message and a terrific soundtrack as well.
Independence Day: Great popcorn flick. I love watching Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum "infect" the alien mothership at the end and what other movie do you get to see a President be a REAL hero in a flight suit!

Mars Attacks: Definite "B-Movie" but irresistibly amusing.

- "Twilight"
I know I'm not the target audience because I'm already in my thirties, so I shouldn't enjoy it as much as I do. At least I feel a bit guilty about it.

- "Howard the duck"
Yeah, I like the movie, too.

Guilty pleasures? Most of these are legit good films!

When I'm feeling particularly guilty, I turn to the Catherine Mary Stewart trilogy.

The Last Starfighter
Night Of The Comet
Weekend At Bernie's

Hey, I edited the novelization!

Well, I hope it was better than the movie...you must have really had your work cut out for you. :p I wish more people liked "Joe vs. the Volcano" and "The Rocketeer". I think "Joe vs. the Volcano" is brilliant and even with the rather ridiculous ending, was worthy of a best picture nomination. Seriously, there is some really powerful philosophy going on there, amidst the absurd comedy.

And I consider "The Rocketeer" one of the best comic book-based movies ever and much better than a lot of the ones that have come out recently. Probably the only ones I like more are "X2", "The Dark Knight", "Superman II", and maybe "Spider-Man 2".

Of the ones not mentioned...

Godzilla (US Version)
-it's a giant reptile destroying a major metropolitan area; what's not to love?

Wagons East
-One of John Candy's last films. Great overlooked Western spoof.

Loony Tunes: Back In Action
-one of those love/hate flics, I s'pose. At least it's in on the joke. Plus, you can't go wrong with Brenden Fraser making fun of himself.

Event Horizon - cobbled together from scenes and ideas from other movies (2010 and Hellraiser spring immediately to mind), but somehow it becomes better than just the sum of its parts.

Xtro - another ripoff, this time of Alien primarily, but it has an ickiness all of its own, and having that horror occur in a normal domestic setting makes it all the more disturbing, although I did prefer the original ending, far creepier than the gross-out cop-out that made the final edit.

I Don't Want To Be Born aka The Monster - 70s horror with Joan Collins, who has a curse put on her by an Italian dwarf, who tells her that her soon to be born baby will be possessed by the Devil. Cue some very bad cod Italian accents (especially from Ralph Bates), supposedly terrifying shots of a baby obviously totally oblivious to the tosh he's starring in, and acting that has to be seen to be believed (yes, Caroline Munro, I'm talking about you). But this is Joan Collins of The Stud/The Bitch era, and so imbues the proceedings with a sleazy sexiness that makes it all tolerable. I also liked her in that other great British exploitation flick, Terror From Under The House.

Devil's Rain - Just why was William Shatner dreadful in every role post-Kirk? Perhaps it was the director's fault here, but The Shat mistimes his delivery and reactions, but fortunately it isn't long before he's turned into a wax-dribbling zombie of Satan. I've got Kingdom of the Spiders, also with The Shat, but haven't watched it yet, although I did go and see it when I was a kid, so I remember bits and pieces; too early to say if it'll be a guilty pleasure. It did bring to mind Night of the Lepus with De Kelley; I remember thinking that was crap even when I was kid. Giant Killer Rabbits, oh my.

There's a novelization for Mortal Kombat Annihilation?

The Devil's Rain is awesomely bad. And how about Tom Skerrit, the ineffective 70's male hero...here and even more so in ALIEN.

Another awesomely bad Devil worship movie is Equinox.

Kingdom of the Spiders sucked, IIRC. Animals attacking are only cool if they are giant or mutated.
