What about a movie about TNG or TOS?

I am not sure if giving the new cast the roles would be a good idea. They are part of the rebooot so they are not faithfull interpretation's and there is also the fact that they would cost more money.

Humor. It is a difficult concept.

Problem being, who is going to care about the infighting on a fifty-year old TV series outside of some hardcore fans? The likelihood of a film like this being made is probably minuscule. It should've been made sometime between 1991-1996, when Trek was a bankable property.

I fully agree. While it would be entertaining for a minority group of hard core fans, I really think most people could care less about it at this point. With such a small audience target, it wouldn't be worth making.

I think there would be some really dramatic scenes. For example, when Martin Luther King, Jr. drove to Nichelle Nichols home, picked her up, and carried her back to the studio to make sure she stayed in the show.

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

And then there would be the Great Bicycle Disappearance. We would all be on the edge of our seats with that one.

And let's not forget to include fruit salad in a poignant Shatner scene.

Hell, they even did one about Gilligan's Island.

EDIT: Zombie Cheerleader beat me to that one.

Any suggestions about who could play which actor?
It would be best to cast talented but relatively unknown people, so the audience would see them as the young Shatner, Nimoy, et al., instead of as actors playing actors. I can just see the cattle call auditions: A hundred hopeful young actors on an empty soundstage, all doing their best Shatner imitations at once, like the tryouts for Springtime for Hitler in The Producers.

And the prank the whole crew played on John D.F. Black with the girl stripping in his office . . .
