I hear you, problem is that they come from a time when people knew what Star Trek was. I want non ST geeks to know that there's a star trek show out there..

There will always be only one STD in the franchise for me, and that's Star Trek into Darkness. So either DIS or DSC is perfectly fine.

I'll personally be calling it STD just because I'm an immature child but between DIS and DSC I prefer DSC. Something about DIS is just off putting to me and I can't pin it down.

Looks like DIS and DSC are in the most popular at the moment. In the long run I'm pretty sure DIS will be the successor because it follows the pattern of VOY and ENT.

DSC or DIS works best for me. It just has a better ring to it and it's in line with TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOY. None of them used 'Star Trek' as part of the abbreviation.
