What abbreviation for Star Trek Discovery do you like the most? We have for one the funny STD. Or the one syllable choice DIS, following the tradition of VOY and ENT. Or what a guy from CBS said, which was DSC. But he also used VGR instead of VOY, so you might be willing to ignore his opinion. Or do you prefer another abbreviation? Please vote!

DIS sounds too much like Diss, meaning disrespect (in the UK), so I prefer DSC.

With The Original Series (TOS), The Next Generation (TNG) and Deep Space Nine (DS9), we have lovely abbreviations that cover all three words in the title. Discovery will be like Voyager and Enterprise in only having one word in its title (apart from Star Trek of course, though STV and STE just look wrong :p) so I'll call it DIS.

STD is funny but it actually reminds me too much of STID (Into Darkness).

So yeah, I'll just be sitting here on my pedantry throne. :D

How do you say tee-oh-es in one syllable?

Besides "The Original Series" is not even in the title. The abbreviation should be ST.

By saying it as a word. Like the alien on the run in early DS9. It was called Tosk. Drop the k. TOS. One syllable.

You're fighting a battle that was lost about five minutes after TNG was announced.

In my head I say Toss, Ting, DS9, VOY and ENT. I don't think that makes sense really, but in conversation I usually use more words. ;)

In my head I've always spelled out the letters, so they're all three syllables:

Tee-oh-ess
Tee-en-gee
Dee-ess-nine
Vee-gee-arr
Eee-en-tee
Dee-ess-see

The exceptions for some reason are TWOK, which I hear in my head like a Batman punch or a misogynistic slur, and GEN/INS/NEM, which I hear like the first syllables of their full titles. Brains, man...
