Poll What’s Your Favorite SNW Season (So Far)?

As the title says, I’m wondering if there’s a consensus on which season of the show so far has been the best. I could be wrong, but from the weekly review threads I got the impression that season three probably didn’t end up being anyone’s favorite. But with season one and two I don’t really have a feel for what most people prefer. I apologize if I missed an already existing thread that asked for the same thing.

For me I think the second season has been the strongest and most consistently good thus far. While season one was overall pretty well done — with “Memento Mori”, “All Those Who Wander” and “A Quality of Mercy” being standout episodes for me — I feel season two is when everything finally clicked and the episodes weren’t just good, but often great. “Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow”, “Under the Cloak of War” and “Hegemony” were all pretty great, whereas “Ad Astra per Aspera”, “Subspace Rhapsody”, and “Those Old Scientists” are even outstanding. Season three wasn’t all bad, of course, and I loved “Shuttle to Kenfori”, “The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail“ and especially “Terrarium”, but overall it feels like a noticeable dip in quality. I go with season 2 myself, but it's very close! I still prefer the overall feel of the first season, but season 2 was when they had the chance to build on the character arcs from season 1.

I'm gonna give it to season two, but only just. If it weren't for The Elysian Kingdom I would probably give it to season one.

Season 1 was the best.

Episodes 1-4 were awesome, IMHO the show has slowly gone downhill since those 1st 4. Season 2 is 2nd and last place is Season 3.

Seems like two bad episodes every season. Serene Squall and Elysian Kingdom. Old Scientists and Subspace Crhapsody. Wedding Bells, Space Adventure and 4-1/2 Vulcans. Okay Season 3 had 3.

Still the 2nd best Trek series. (TOS)

Hoping Season 4 returns to season 1 quality with better storytelling and some real Sci-Fi and some Strange New Worlds.

Oh wow, interesting development this morning: While season two started with a healthy lead in the poll the first couple of days, season one has now slowly overtaken it and is leading with one vote. I expected it to be a close call between those two, but not this close. And I’m probably biased, but I thought season two would be coming out on top.

Kind of sobering, too, to see that there’s not a single vote for season three. Yikes.

Season 3 is fine, perfectly entertaining with several great episodes but it felt very inconsequential. The Batel arc was not really strong enough to be the only thing really connecting the episodes together. Episodic adventures are nice but there needs to be something developing throughout the season and then you need a finale that packs a punch. Season 3 ends on what could have just been a regular episode at any point in the season and has an oh it's over feeling instead of an oooh what's going to happen next.

its hard to say

season 2 had a few comical type episodes like when lara time traveled to the past or when spock turned human then theres the one where the 2 lower deck crew members time traveled to strange new worlds and yeah there was even when the crew burts into song and did musicals

season 3 also had a few comical type episodes like when spock and christine were getting married and when urana christine lara and chris were turned into volcans then theres the one where holodeck makes its debut

I voted for S1, though I think if I thought about it I could give it to S2. I think a big part of it is that a lot of the things that were kinda nice in S1 kinda got zoomed in on in later seasons and were made less interesting.
