What happened to this character after Journey’s End? He had such a promising potential in Starfleet. I know that he quickly returned in Nemesis wearing a Starfleet dress uniform but that does not mean that he was still serving in Starfleet, it might mean that he still had his commission.

However, now that all of the TNG characters are reuniting I am surprised that Wil Wheaton’s name was not in the spoiler list of returning cast. I know that he said that he never wants to return to playing this character as an actor, but I think that there are still too many unanswered questions about Wesley Crusher as he seems to have been inconsistently written and randomly thrown in to plots without much thought.

Maybe this character was just never intended to have a lasting legacy in the Star Trek Universe or was it explained in the novels which continued TNG when the series stopped airing?

There is still time to start a campaign to get Wil Wheaton in to season 3 of Picard for those TNG fans such as myself who would like to see this happen?

I don't think that the upcoming reunion would be complete without him, personally. I hope he's negotiating or they are holding the announcement back.

Ok, I'll throw my hat in the ring and say I don't mind Wesley.

Maybe because I was 8 or 9 years old when TNG started broadcast in the UK. And I thought his character grew well, especially once you get to season 3.

I wouldn't mind seeing him return 30 years later.

A different character? He is an actor, unless he doesn’t want to act in Star Trek. We have seen other actors come back as different characters before.

That makes even less sense. You stated in your initial post that there are unanswered questions about Wesley so what sense does it make to have Wheaton come back as a different character? I'm trying to figure out what you really want here?

Yes, what happened to him after Journey’s End or even after Nemesis. Maybe they are unanswered questions only to me though as I missed a novel or comic. I know that he doesn’t want to come back as Wesley but he did not say that he doesn’t want to come back as someone else? I agree, no need for a campaign if he doesn’t want to come back at all though. I assumed most people would have wanted a come back for him but ah well.

Oh I thought that was the plot to the books that Wesley turns up in again. I misread. It sounded great!
