Same movie? Only tamer?? Now that is supremely scary. That even pushed my tolerance for gore to the limits. Still, more zombies are always a good thing. Enterprise never got better than the ep last season with the Vulcan zombies! :D

^ You guys.....

The movies I watched the other night were scary in a *good* way. I'd watch more like those.

But gory prolly won't sit as well with me. ;)

Beer...BEER...BEER!!!!

I'll grab a couple of bottles. Yep, uh-huh!

What are we watching on the big screen today? Farscape? B5?

I just got back from Saw, and was pretty satisfied by it. There were definitely some interesting twists and reveals, though the killer's motivations were a trifle iffy. Danny Glover's acting was a little "off" to me; I guess he's getting too old for this shit. ;) And Tobin Bell's voicework was very creepy; even moreso than Kiefer Sutherland's in Phone Booth. :)

Despite its flaws, it's still a heck of a lot more interesting than a lot of the thrillers bigger studios crank out. ***1/2/*****
I like your assessment. I don't think the killer had any motives at all, except maybe that since he was dying he'd make others hurt & kill each other to take his mind off himself. I certainly don't buy that he was trying to make them "appreciate life" more.

Danny Glover was rather different in this ep. None of the lighthearted nature that tend to dwell in his characters. We've seen very little of that kind of acting from him, so I'm sure it threw many people off.

I don't do horrors much, but ones like this catch my interest more. Cause it's more realistic than some crazy supernatural lunatic running around killing everything in site. Maybe it's not a good thing; I'd certainly never want the scenes they depict here to be real!

That's why the Friday the 13th and Halloween movies never really satisfied me. Having a killer become invincible, just so that sequel after sequel can be made, kinda pisses me off.

It's pretty much self-serve here, I think, as long as you're discreet about it. :D

I think I'll open a few bottles of 2309 blood wine to celebrate my assimilation into the rear admiralcy. :borg:

Cheers!

Yay!!!! Monty is a Rear!!!!

Woohoo!!! :D

Actually, the RA lounge is the better of the two Admiral's Lounges, IMO....you are lucky! ;)

Oh...and btw guys...last night coaster and I watched the Elton John DVD - the one in Madison Square Garden in 2000. What a GREAT show. I've only ever seen him once live in concert (1995 in Moscow's Kremlin)...but it made me want to go see him again - NOW!!!

Of course....coaster thinks I'm slightly nuts for dancing 'round in the living room. :p

So this where you've slunk off to... don't think you'll escape, even though your RAL welcome thread's busily being derailed as I speak...

*buys Monty his bloodwine and rummages round for the good kanar*

Cheers, my dears...

*sniff* :(

Those Orlando posters were put up for you... guess I have to go tear them down.

So what have you guys been up to?

I am so glad this week (well, school week) is over, cos it's been a really long one. Next one should be the same...ugh. Anyway....I went downtown today, and I found Daredevil in FutureShop for $9.99 canadian (that's like $8 american), so I got it for my g/f. I didn't care all that much for the movie, but it did have Elektra, Bullseye and Kingpin who were all very cool. :) And my g/f really likes the movie. So I got it for her for x-mas. :)

Anyway, I'm gonna go watch this week's Enterprise now. Hopefully it won't suck, lol. :)

^ I liked Daredevil too, BigFoot! It's a fun movie!

And let's face it...what's not to love about Ben Afleck in red leather?

Are we talking about the new DVD with the extra half hour of footage? I didn't enjoy the original version much, but I'd be interested in giving the new edition a chance. It adds a bunch of backstory to Matt Murdock. Is it a better movie?

Well, I thought I'd follow Vash's suggestion and start posting here.

Gimmie a Trixian bubble juice please.
Everybody starts cracking up. What!?!?

Anyway, Vash, I skimmed over this thread and saw you and Coaster were in Chicago recently. I lived in the Chicago suburbs for a long time. I've been to the Museum of Science and Technology a few times. Way back in the 70s my family saw the King Tut exhibit at the Museum of Natural History, it was an awesome exhibit.

In case you're wondering since I was born in Atlanta and currently live here a little history. I'm one of eight kids, Number 6. My dad got a new job and we moved to Charlotte, NC when I was six. When I was 13, my dad was transferred to the Chicago suburbs and we lived in St. Charles, IL for about 20 years.

In 1994, my employer transferred me to guess where? Yep. Atlanta. This was very lucky because when my dad retired, my parents moved back to Atlanta because they couldn't take the winters up in Chicago any more. Three of my brothers live here too. Two sisters and a brother still lives in Charlotte; I visit them there all the time.

So my third sister, the one I mentioned before is the only one of us left in the north because of her husband. If she wasn't married she probably would have moved down here.

In fact, the ONLY time I missed a first-run showing of a DS9 ep was when I was moving here. The ep was "The Abandoned", luckily I caught it on rerun.

Recently I went to the Brian Wilson "Smile" concert at Chastain Park with a couple sisters and a brother, it was a great show.

Robert

^ Well I got the original version cos it was so cheap. I heard they actually cut some of the Elektra scenes for the Director's Cut which is why I have no desire to get it.

Honestly neither me and my g/f like Ben Affleck. We both love Jennifer Garner though. :D And like I said, Colin Farrell kicked ass in that movie.

EDIT: Oh yeah, me and my g/f are gonna go see The Incredibles today. :D It looks like a fun flick, and I really wanna see the Episode III trailer on the big screen. I also heard something about the Elektra trailer being shown with the movie, which would be an added bonus. :D

Well, The Incredibles was a fun flick. :) The CGI was great, but I do have to say that I was really disappointed that they didn't show the trailer for Episode III.

Oh yeah, is anyone watching J.J. Abrams' new show "Lost"? Me and my g/f watched the first two episode yesterday and today. So far it seems like a lot of fun with a lot of really cool characters. Anyway...if anyone wants to discuss the show in here, we could do that. No spoilers though, or we should at least use the spoiler tags. :)
