Welcome to sunny Dubai!

Unfortunately with that weather it looks like they could have shot on some sand dunes in Cardiff and got much the same effect!

Liking Michelle Ryan's outfit more and more...

Wondering if that's just a temporary sandstorm, heck it may even be one they've stirred up.

I though the alien planet bits they did in torchwood that were patently filmed on a beach in Wales looked quite good, but they did have to filter them a lot!

I think filming in Dubai is a really good idea, I dunno how many people have been but there are some places where you can't see any sign of civilization anywhere.

By the way I'm timing how long it takes before someone mentions Dubai's horrible human rights record (someone other than me obviously!)

Yeah

Still a retarded argument.

I'm sure we'd have found that DW not shooting there for four days would have inspired a popular revolution like the ones the Doctor used to instigate in every other Original Series story.

No biggee. I'm sure with some filters and CGI, they can still make it look like a bright sunny day. If that's what they're going for.

The Doctor-I think we better get indoors. The Sand People are easily startled but they'll soon be back, and in greater numbers

To be honest I'll be dissapointed if Tennant doesn't twiddle some knobs and cause the entire Royal Family to implode... ;)

Apparently The Doctor's high morals don't mind Dubai. But just you watch out if they ever start using Ood as bellboys in their hotels!

I love the fact that Doctor Who can now go abroard and film for an episode: Rome, New York (2nd unit and sfx units at least) and Dubai.

Its really cool, Ryan looking better and better, lets hope she has a costume change. :techman:

Dont know what the furthest a field the classic show went, probably not that much further than Sussex. (Excluding LA for the 96 tv movie.)

The classic series did four overseas shoots: Paris for "City of Death," Amsterdam for "Arc of Infinity," Lanzarote for "Planet of Fire," and Seville for "The Two Doctors" (after plans for New Orleans fell through). Of the four, Lanzarote is the greatest distance from the UK. The TV movie was actually shot in Vancouver; only stock footage of San Francisco was used.

I'd be disappointed if Donna couldn't do even quicker than him. Best temp in Chiswick!
