Newb question: I'm getting flooded by emails regarding "a new response in the thread" type. I think I've checked off everything I can think off under Preferences but I still get them.

Help!

Mouse hover over your username at the top right, and select "Alert Preferences". Check or uncheck boxes as you prefer.

Relax, 1001001 is only joking.
Or is he?

Appreciate your response. I have been doing that for a couple of days, continuously unchecking stuff but I still get email alerts. Interestingly I am not getting alerts on this site itself. It seems like I turned off alerts within the site but I'm still getting email alerts, if that makes sense.

I'll keep trying. Thanks!

If that keeps happening, post in QSF and the Tech Admin will look into it.

Hello all! I’m Sumire. I’m American. I think I found this board while searching for fanfic. That probably gives you a good introduction to me, right there.

My mom raised me on Star Trek. She was part of the postcard campaign to bring TOS back. My sister got into it a whole lot more than me. They’re the sciency ones in the family. I think they’ve watched everything and they also keep up with all the ongoing shows. My husband has watched so much Star Trek he puts it on as a virtual security blanket to fall asleep to.

I have watched some episodes of most Star Trek series and some of the movies too. I had a crush on Wesley Crusher in my preteen years which also may be all some people need to know about me. I give all real Trek fans fair warning. I know I am an anathema to many. It is a long and historied franchise that has pushed the boundaries of technology even in our real world. You can study ship schematics and argue the intricacies of the multifaceted lore for days. And all I care about is getting to know the characters better and romance. That’s it. Maybe some cool scenery or costumes on occasion. While my sister took classes in statistics and physics and engineering, I majored in storytelling back in the 1900s. The only shows I try to keep up with are Lower Decks and Prodigy. Final nail in the coffin, I love animation. Please kindly humor me as best you can. I promise I am a very polite anathema.

Good morning! I see a couple of familiar faces from The Omega Sector!

I've been posting on the late TrekWeb from 2003 to 2013 and on The Omega Sector from 2013 to 2017. Now I feel like giving this place a try. Not sure how active I will be, since I've grown extremely sceptical of social media communication in general, but maybe this place will convince me otherwise.

Looking forward to reading from all of you!
