Ways that SNW actually improved TOS

It will be interesting to see what SNW does with T'Pring, but I hope they don't turn her into what the original showed. I like this T'Pring, and I really hope they address the Sybok storyline in Season 3.

I'm also glad they are giving Number 1 a lot more to do, and Anson Mount's Pike is great. I just hope they utilize him better in Season 3.

Well we know from TOS that T'Pring and Spock won't merry.
But why not giving her a good story about what happened before...
Well, we could always see T'Pring meet Stonn, Stonn states logically why he is the best fit and T'Pring is persuaded.

All logically, of course.

I know they won't marry. The thing I like is they have made T'Pring actually a great character you would want to hang out with, with a career, and personality, and agency. I hope they keep that going

I think SNW has improved on the Original Series so far in developing Uhura a lot more than the original series did. I also think they've added more facets to T'Pring, and her relationship with Spock. They've done the same with Spock and Chapel (though I don't care for that too much). SNW has also added more backstory to the enmity between the Federation and Klingons that we see in "Errand of Mercy." It's also added more context to Spock's actions in "The Menagerie".

There's no reason to think it won't happen.
I think it will happen but from a different perspective. As Spock notes, T'Pring's choice was flawlessly logical. Why should that be upsetting when we know the motivation and effort she put in to the relationship now?

I like SNW T'Pring. I don't like TOS T'Pring. I personally think it's silly to create great character development for this person only to see it flushed down the toilet later, just to satisfy some obsessive-compulsive need to 'make it all fit together' (in the most flimsiest of ways.)

Ditto with Chapel.

They could've just invented different characters. All of this was avoidable!
