Warner bros announce superhero films through 2020

Yeah, but whose posting represents the many who do not take the time and don't feel the same way?

^^
Fun Fact: On these boards there are currently 104 posts by Christopher on how much Zack Snyder sucks ass.

That's not exactly true. His opinions of MOS are quite nuanced and he has a problem with a very specific part of that movie. Also, he didn't see BvS because of his opinions so that's not quite like the types of people you're talking about.

Actually I didn't see BvS in the theater because the climax of MoS was so excessive in noise and chaos that it was difficult to endure physically and almost drove me out of the theater when it just wouldn't end. And the reviews indicate that BvS is even louder. So I do intend to see BvS, but not until it comes out on DVD and I can watch it on a smaller screen with the ability to turn down the volume. I've made that clear quite a few times.

Although if it weren't for Wonder Woman, I wouldn't see it at all. I've seen enough of Snyder's work to know that I don't like it -- or at least that the aspects I dislike are bad enough to outweigh the aspects I find impressive. I'm all for giving things a fair chance, but if you see a couple of a director's movies and conclude that you aren't interested in anything else he makes, I think that counts as a fair chance. Normally I'd just walk away -- aside from The Last Airbender, I haven't seen an M. Night Shyamalan movie since The Village -- but it's hard to do that when the movies are about characters I care about like Superman and Batman.

I believe you just described most people who didn't care for MOS or BvS. In fact, I haven't seen very many people who just said "it sucks," but instead went on to list what they didn't care for and why they disliked it. So, why does this person get a pass when so many others don't? Because he's more wordy?

Also, he didn't see BvS because of his opinions so that's not quite like the types of people you're talking about.
And yet he continually expresses his opinion about it. Especially in contrast to other people who have seen it and are voicing why they didn't care for it.

I agree with you on both counts. I was just saying that he hasn't seen BvS so he is not like the people who hate watch things just to complain about them. In fact, there are very few people on this board who just rant and rave without supporting evidence, and I try to call out those who do. I was just replying to a specific comment from Dodge because I think that his/her comment was a little unfair.

I don't like Snyder's interpretation of the characters either but I have tried to be positive and found things I do like. And I actually enjoyed BvS for the most part as I did with MoS.

That's just what frustrates me so much about MoS. There's a lot about it that I really liked a lot. But the parts that were bad were just so wrongheaded and awful that they ruined the whole film for me, and the fact that much of the film was worthwhile makes that even worse. I wouldn't care so much if the whole film had been a total write-off. It hurts because it came so close to greatness and then totally ruined itself.

On the flip side of that, I wonder what the number would be if someone counted up all of the posts you've made defending a bad movie?

I've been a member of this BBS so long, and I'm so hard to shut up, that you could probably find hundreds of posts from me on practically any topic I've addressed at all.

But I freely admit that my animus toward Man of Steel is more intense than my reaction to just about any other movie. Most movies I dislike, I don't dwell on that much. But I felt assaulted by the third act of MoS. It made me angry in a way few movies ever have.

Honestly, if the only reason you're interested in the movie is Wonder Woman, then you might want to just skip BvS. While she is good in it, she really doesn't have that big of a role, so at this point you'd probably be better off just waiting for her solo movie.

Or maybe someone will compile her scenes and make a YouTube short.

I actually saw a clip of Wonder Woman's "big entrance" in the movie, and I was rather underwhelmed by it, though that might be because she only showed up at the end.

Admittedly, WW isn't quite the only reason I intend to see the movie. As I said, there was a lot about MoS that I really liked a lot; it was just ruined by the bad parts. I've heard that BvS is a similar mix of good and awful, and though I don't expect the good to predominate, I'm curious enough to be willing to give it a try, at least on home video where I can control the volume and pacing of the experience. (And freely shout at the screen if I need to. In MoS, when the second massive destruction-porn sequence began after the interminable first one had finally died down, it was all I could do not to yell "Really?!!" in the middle of the theater.)

There is also the airline scene from the previous released airline advertisement.

And the scene where she is looking at her computer as well as the "flashback". And the scene at Lex's where she says one line not released in the trailer.

And one cool action shot when she's fighting Doomsday AND her two lines at the ending scene.
