Warner bros announce superhero films through 2020

What was so bad that you stopped watching Legends, Flash, and Arrow?

The Legion of Doom rewriting REALITY with the Spear of Destiny and Flash and Arrow's storylines continuing on as if nothing had actually happened without any explanation whatsoever.

The Arrowverse had, up to that point, been fairly diligent in keeping things consistent and meaningful even if you weren't watching all of its component shows, but the Doomworld arc irreparably broke the continuity of the franchise for me.

I stopped watching all of them when I realized that the terrible writing they all suffer from is not a mistake or an issue of writers/showrunners needing to find their feet, but simply an issue that the writers (probably more the showrunners, since it seems endemic to all the shows) just don't give a damn about coherent story or characterization. A real shame, cause Flash, Supergirl and Legends have some cool characters and really likable actors.

I'm still watching Arrowverse. Hey . . . if I can continue watching "Agents of SHIELD" after the shitty Season 2 and the mediocre Season 3, I can continue watching "The Flash" after the early Season 4 comedy routine.

Wasn't all of the reversed? When it comes to stuff like that, there are enough ways to work around it that I'm not bothered when the other shows aren't affected.

None of the time stuff in Legends has really affected the other two shows, unless Stein's daughter showed up somewhere. Flashpoint did cause some minor ripples to Arrow though.

Lily has shown up in the Flash portion of "Invasion!" and the (technically) Supergirl person of "Crisis on Earth-X."

And to Legends, because it turned out to be the basis of that "mysterious warning from future Barry" thread running through the first part of Legends season 2.

Actually, there aren't, not with the way that the Doomworld arc was actually written and narratively paced out.

The Legion of Doom rewrote reality in the present and stretching back, at least, to World War I, and yet Arrow and The Flash's present-set events continued to occur simultaneously with what was happening on Legends without being affected whatsoever... which is a narrative impossibility.

If things were reversed at the end, that's natratively the ONLY possibility since they wouldn't be affected by the events and things would have progressed as normal.

Outside of Legends, there van only be the perspective shown from outside their timeline. We didn't see their shows affected because, according to their own history, absolutely nothing changed.

It seems you simply have trouble with narrative perspective more than anything.

The Legends had been living in "Doomworld" for YEARS; the altered reality had long since solidified in history by the time we "caught up to it", so by Legends' own time-travel rules, and those specified on The Flash, the events of The Flash Season 3 and Arrow Season 5 should have been erased from history, not kept going on as if nothing was out of the ordinary.

This wouldn't be the problem that it is if we'd seen a temporary cessation in what was happening on The Flash and Arrow (the simplest solution would've been to leave those two shows on hiatus until after "Aruba" aired), but by having the two-episode "Doomworld" arc - which showed a timeline that had been altered FOR YEARS - going concurrently with The Flash and Arrow, it created an inescapable narrative paradox and "broke the illusion" in a way that wasn't in any way explainable or justifiable.

I still can't believe you don't see how ridiculous it is to use the word "simultaneously" when talking about a time-travel story.

Freddy? As in Freddy Freeman, aka Captain Marvel Jr.?
Most likely. I have noticed most other sites that have picked up the news are using the full name even without official confirmation. It would be surprising for a Shazam movie to name another young boy Freddy if not Freddy Freeman. But then again it's Hollywood which likes to make arbitrary changes in adaptations.

Well, it could be a different character who's just called that as an homage -- like how the 1990 Flash TV series gave Barry Allen an older brother named Jay. But, yeah, in these franchise-driven times, I'd be surprised if they weren't setting him up to be another member of the Marvel Family (or I guess they call it the Shazam Family now?) in a sequel. Maybe we'll get casting news for Mary soon.

If they introduce Mary Marvel as anything but Billy's twin sister...I won't be surprised, since of course this garbage is going to get literally everything possible wrong. Or, well, since they're not adapting Captain Marvel but Geoff Johns shitty "Shazam" character, who was never established as having a sister, I guess it would make sense. He's practically a supervillain, or at least a borderline sociopath in Johns JL run/Shazam back up stories, so having sidekicks/partners doesn't really make sense. Johns version of the character only helps people for fame and money, like if Booster Gold wasn't secretly a really good guy and was actually just doing good things strictly for money and PR reasons.

I'm sure Freddy will end up being Captain nazi, since that is literally the worst thing he could be that has any connection to the Marvel family and, as has been established, this whole shit production, just like DC comics since around 2007, is basically actively hostile toward Captain Marvel and his entire legacy.
