Warner bros announce superhero films through 2020

I don't know who suggested it, but I heard Emma Watson's name mentioned somewhere online, and she's honestly MY first choice for the role.

Emma Watson would be great but I doubt she would be interested in doing another franchise so soon.

I heard about Joss Whedon being set to direct a "Batgirl" movie for Warners. That was a surprise. Personally, I cannot see Emma Watson as Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl. Will J.K. Simmons be in this film as Commissioner Gordon?

I'm sorry, but if the DCEU tries to shoehorn in a Batgirl who was active pre-BvS and got paralyzed only to find a way to talk again, it's going to break the plausibility of this Batman's history as already established and make it impossible for me to buy the notion that his existence wasn't widespread public knowledge pre-BvS.

I don't understand this complaint, considering that Batman made his first appearance in a DCEU movie without an origin tale.

I didn't think of Watson, but she'd be a great choice.
I just had another thought, Ally Ioannides from Into the Badlands.

I like the idea of Bonnie Wright if only because the Potter films so badly served her character and I think there was a lot more potential there.

That is so ridiculous it sounds like something WB would try. I'd actually really like to see that. Regardless of the movies quality, four superhero movies based off Batman related things all released in one year would be absolute insanity.

Unsubstantiated rumor of the day (from a very unreliable source), to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Batman, Warner will release four Batman-related movies in 2019 -- Gotham City Sirens around Valentine’s Day weekend, Nightwing on Memorial Day weekend, Batgirl in August and The Batman in November.
At first I was like "ew," but after thinking about it for a second that sounds like a big comic book crossover event, only in movie form, so if it's true, I kinda dig it, and I hope it turns out well.

So are they pushing out any other DC movies in 2019? Are they going to try for something else in mid 2018? They seem to have lost the flash movie. Could anything replace it???

That is just a (very unlikely) rumour, nothing has been confirmed for 2019 yet.
The only movie officially on the schedule is Aquaman for 2018.

Cool.

Is he the first person to do both DCEU and the Arrowverse?

No; Arrow's Mike Dopud (from the same Bratva flashback arc as Lundgren) was in Man of Steel. So were a ton of other familiar Vancouver actors, some of whom have probably been in Arrowverse shows.

Looking through the DCEU cast lists reminded me that at least a couple of actors who've played certain comics characters in Smallville later appeared in DCEU movies alongside different actors playing the same characters. Alessandro Juliani was Professor Hamilton in Smallville and then appeared in Man of Steel, where Richard Schiff played Hamilton; and Ted Whittall played Rick Flag in Smallville and then appeared in Suicide Squad, where Joel Kinnaman played Flag.

Dolph Lundgren has been mostly appearing in direct to video action films the last few decades. Directing a number of those himself. Mostly produced overseas where he had been living. Sometime last year I read on a message board that he recently moved to the US to make it easier to pursue and audition for larger productions. With his role on Arrow and now this his plan clearly is working.
