Fascinating revelations. I was at peace at the idea that Wanda and Pietro gained their powers wholesale from the Mind Stone thanks to vague Hydra experimentation, but the show has retroactively (or maybe this was the plan all along?) stated that they maybe had those innate yet dormant powers all along and the Mind Stone helped them become alive. Like terrigenesis with Inhumans as seen in Agents of SHIELD.
Now I wonder if this is how they'll introduce mutants into the MCU. However, there's one major problem with that: Mind Stone no longer exists. In this universe. Will the creation of mutants ultimately occur as a direct result of multiverse shenanigans of Phase 4 via the same process that happened to Wanda and Pietro?
Interesting to note that Wanda, in fact, did not break in and steal Vision's body and apparently the footage that Hayward showed was doctored. However, that leaves the question of why Hayward would have that fake footage handy to show Monica, Darcy, and Jimmy? Did he suspect ahead of time that he would need such footage to justify his against Wanda? Wouldn't taking over Westview be enough? And how was some tech able to doctor such footage so quickly (remember, the real world timeline is pretty short here)? Or am I overthinking things yet again?
Speaking of creating something fast, SWORD seemingly created white Vision (!!!!) awfully fast in the period of time between Wanda's visit and SWORD's arrival at Westview. How were they able to do that and managed to reanimate him with a new power source? And what's the nature of the new gem on his forehead? What kind of AI mind will he have? How did they manage all of that in such a short time? Or was the disembodied corpse all a show for Wanda's visit? However, that would lead to even more questions, such as how did they know ahead of time to have such a display handy and have it displayed next to the director's office? It's pretty likely that Wanda went straight there after Tony's snap and SWORD had no way of knowing such an event would occur.
And there's one last major revelation: Agatha is a centuries old witch dating back to at least the 17th century. I loved how the prologue played with our expectations that she was going to be burned to the stake as part of the "normal" Salem witch trials, only to quickly reveal that it was her own coven that had turned against her. I wonder what truly ghastly thing Agatha did that caused them, including her own mother, to attempt to destroy her, but it's clear that Agatha was much more powerful than all of them. Or maybe they accidentally caused her to become more powerful when she absorbed their energies and life forces?
Sadly, no Darcy, Monica, Jimmy, or Pietro in this one. There's going to be a lot of stuff happening in this final episode with lots of unanswered questions still lingering (including the true nature of Vision, Billy, and Tommy). Hopefully it's an extra long one!
