Voyager wins best opening title sequence of any Star Trek series

Well I've watched DS9 four times through and I've enjoyed the opening sequence every single time.
Say what you will about Star Trek: Voyager, but the title sequence (and Goldsmith's theme) is superb. Can't fault the choice here.
Being station-bound, the opening of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine isn't nearly as dynamic.
Enterprise had a great idea for an opening title sequence, but the song is unmemorable (and the seasons 3-4 version was worse), and the Amero-centrism to the montage is a little out of pace with the times.
I think the seasons 3-7 version of Star Trek: The Next Generation is probably the second best, although once the names come up it's less interesting. It also loses points for simply reusing Goldsmith's theme from the first movie rather than coming up with something new.

The music also really fits the premise. There's a sort of wistful, poignant air to it that gets across the idea that they're not just boldly going, they're lost and far from home as well . . . .
I NEVER skip VOY's opening whenever I watch any episode.
I ALWAYS skip the opening of the first three seasons of DS9. The music and visuals are just too slow. It got better when when they sped up the music and added more ships.
I always like hearing Picard's narration in the TNG opening, but I will skip to the start of the episode after Jonathan Frakes' name comes up. I think all the TNG reruns did the same thing to save for time, so I just picked that up as a habit.

My least favorite is TNG, I find it a bit cheesy.
I remember being blown away by the visuals from Voyager's opening back in 1995. They still hold up even today. The music only adds to it. The TOS, TNG, and early-DS9 openings are very plain. Voyager was in a league of its own as far as title sequences were concerned.
The S4-S7 DS9 intro was better than the previous version but, in the end, it's more bombastic while the Voyager intro has an elegant feel that looks effortless.
The title sequence for Enterprise looks impressive but the song is something that has to grow on you like a fungus. And I expect that type of visual quality from something that came out in the '00s. The fact that Voyager's intro is from 1995 and has aged as well as it has is the greater accomplishment. That's what I'm impressed with.

VOY's intro was stunning. I'm surprised TNG got second place and that ENT beat DS9. DS9 S4-7 intro should have got second place, its new music and scenes made it far more interesting.
There are a lot more Trek fans for whom TNG their main Trek. I think it influences polls but I may be wrong about the startrek.com voting base.

It's the only way Worf could've won the role for best Security Chief. Worf is one of my favorite characters but Odo was clearly (to me anyway) the best in that position with Tuvok as the runner-up.
I so agree there about your Security votes, that's the way I would have gone. I think there was a thread here about it and Odo was overwhelmingly voted best.
The opening title sequence is indeed great. And I've grown to love Goldsmith's Voyager theme. Too bad the show never lived up to it.

I agree, though only from the standpoint of theme music. As much as I love the DS9 theme, particularly season 4 when they changed it to include the Defiant and some activity going on around the station, the Voyager theme is the only one I ever find myself whistling.
Odo winning here can be easily explained by the fact that DS9 is a favourite here.
DS9 isn't my favorite Star Trek series and I prefer Worf, as a character, to Odo. I still think Odo is the best security chief.
"Hippocratic Oath" is proof that Odo is better at the job than Worf. Worf also embellishes about how much better security was on the Enterprise when Odo calls him on it in "Bar Association". I could list a whole slew of episodes that showcase Odo's great investigative skills, "Improbable Cause" just off the top of my head right now, and I can go further if you like but I don't feel like typing so much right now.
I personally like to judge how well the characters do their job based on what I see and how they handle different situations. There are a lot of factors. As if I were a boss, evaluating employees.
I won't deny that there are people who confuse "best" with "favorite" and treat it like a popularity contest, but I'm not one of them.

No one here seems to have forgotten it.
While I like the visuals during Voyager's opening credits I really think that Voyager itself is an ugly starship.
