if it weren't for Chak's gorgeous...mmmm...
everything, then I might agree.
Hey
Cosmic Mouse, I'm getting busy with other projects also, but want to finish my 2 cents on Season 4. Today I'll post my comments on the first half of the last half.

“Prey” is a strong, suspenseful episode for me, where a Hirogen ship finds Species 8472 a troublesome prey. Voyager joining forces with the Hirogen is a problematic but necessary solution. It succeeds in getting me to feel sorry for the alien near the end. I don’t care for the ending, but it demonstrates how different Seven of Nine is in her values at this point. And I frankly don’t know how Voyager was going to get out of their predicament without her doing that. Perhaps we see a foreshadowing for how Voyager could be overpowered by a pack of Hirogen ships later in Killing Game.
“Retrospect” was a look at a once hot issue of previous decades, how faulty “Recovered Memories” caused many to be accused of abuse when there was little or no evidence for it. The catalyst was the doctor playing an inexperienced psychologist believing Seven was victimized by an arms trader. The accusations have tragic consequences, for Kovin and for Voyager in not getting an additional weapons system they could have used against the Hirogen and other enemies.
“Killing Game” 1&2 – Once again a two parter that is a favorite with a lot of fans sort of underwhelmed me. Of course I’ve never been enamored of the holodeck. Admittedly, it was a good concept to allow the cast to dress up in (mostly) WWII era costumes (with a dash of Klingon on the side) and play slightly different characters. But the premise itself is horrific. To have the crew put through traumatic ordeals again and again only to be patched up (except for when they die) and sent back in again. Harry actually has one of the more interesting parts in this one as he attempts to keep the Hirogen happy and figure out a way to rescue the crew, with the docs help. I thought Chakotay made a nice GI Joe, still hitting on Janeway even in his amnesiac state. But since he never tried to steal a kiss, the whole episode was a waste imo.
“Vis a Vis” – I had totally forgotten this episode until I saw it again on re-watch. It’s something different. I found it interesting. Robbie gets to play a different character who has switched bodies with him, and another actor gets to play him. His attacking the captain was a good ploy. I forget whether the alien had a device which allowed him to do this, or it is a trait of his species. Imagine a whole planet constantly switching identities… would be very confusing!
“The Omega Directive” – This is another I barely remembered. Liked it better on re-watch. Janeway following orders to keep the Omega thing hush hush and then her senior officers rebelling a bit was good. Seven exploring spirituality a bit was OK. I like that something happened at the end that they could not explain and left a few of them in awe.
The rest in a couple of days...
