Barrel of Monkeys

Voyager visits a space station, where they have simian-like creatures who do maintenance all over the ship. Wacky things begin to happen when Naomi befriends one of them.

Next episode' The Nebula Queen

"The Nebula Queen" - Voyager comes to the aid of the titular alien cruise ship that is traversing the Berrisa Nebula, but has managed to become grounded in dense clouds. The crew and passengers seem to be in a holiday mood, but why do they keep disappearing, replaying the same scenes all over again, and, most of all, seemingly being too eager for Voyager crew to remain aboard? Will B'Elanna, Janeway, Harry, and Tom be able to leave the ship alive? Meanwhile, The Doctor introduces Seven to the art of caricature, much to the non-amusement of the crew when her drawn impressions of them are less than flattering.

Next episode: "Least Resistance"

Will B'Elanna, Janeway, Harry, and Tom be able to leave the ship alive?

Spoiler: Not at first, but ultimately, yes.

Least Resistance
Voyager encounters the Idulvans, a species that has been attacked by the Borg for at least 50 times over the past 500 years, every time turning them back at the last possible moment. As a result they went on a path of feverish innovation. More and more powerful weapons, and defenses, to be able to repel the Borg. After studying a few of these encounters, Janeway suggests that the Borg didn't push through at some critical moments when they could have. Could it be that the Borg don't want to assimilate the Idulvans outright, opting to let them invent for them instead until they come up with no more new inventions? (*) The Idulvans then contemplate the option of not resisting anymore, because with their resistance it seems they ultimately help the Borg to become stronger. What will they decide?

(*) This is basically the 'borg milking species' theory - not invented by me.

Next Episode: Flashpoint

"Flashpoint"- Voyager is hailed by Pyla, a Cwiustai woman who warns them that she has been tracing the source of a devastating cataclysm on her home planet and has determined that something that will happen on the ship shortly will be the source of her people's devastation. Janeway is confused, as the routines shipboard have settled into a rhythm the last two weeks, nothing odd or unusual happening, and holds a hearing to investigate, having crew members testify about their experiences or lack of same. Ultimately, the cause is traced and will be because of the coordination of several different ordinary but necessary things which have already been set in motion. Is it possible that the deadly combination need not be?

Next episode: "Trickster"

"Trickster"

While investigating an post-apocalyptic pre-warp civilization, a small hominid-like creature hears Tom and Harry talk about their latest holodeck prank on Tuvok. The lonely creature becomes curious about this Tuvok after reading their thoughts about the pranks they've done, and covertly jumps into the tranport beam.

Weird things begin to happen when it seems Tuvok was constantly pranked. It spreads to the rest of the crew.

Next Episode: "The Vidiian Sematary"

"The Vidiian Sematary" - The Doctor, realizing that he never actually married the wife in his simulation in “Real Life” decides he wants an official ceremony, and wants B’Elanna to officiate the ceremony. When Voyager stumbles upon a Viidian planet where the entire population is dying off, the situation on the planet becomes too much for the Doctor, as it brings back feelings of the loss of his daughter. Which leads to Neelix having to coach him through such a disaster.

Next episode: “Rascals and Codgers”

“Rascals and Codgers” - While hiking back to their shuttle after an away team, Naomi, Tuvok, Tom and Neelix take a moment to drink from a natural spring. Shortly after, Naomi and Tom age to senior citizens, while Neelix and Tuvok de-age to four year olds, with their memories of adulthood blocked, but personalities intact. The Doctor has to find a cure and help the crew manage their new circumstances. They learn from the local villagers that it is a sacred spring, and to undo the changes, they must seek the help of the Guardian of the Spring, who does what she feels right and does not grant every request.

Next episode: "Bells and Whistles"

Oooh, I like that.

"Focal Point" - Chakotay experiences insomnia after a series of disturbing dreams in which a woman he doesn't recognize keeps dying in multiple ways throughout human history, all things he could have prevented if he had just moved a little faster. When he meets the same woman, actually an alien this time, on a stopover at a friendly alien base, he knows he must prevent her death in real life...but how? Meanwhile, Kim and Torres try to find a non-replicated replacement for one of Voyager's telescopic lenses and befriend an alien lenssmith who reminds them of Neelix.

Next episode: "Sutures"

Next episode: "Sutures"

The Cloud Creature from the 6th Voyager episode lodges a complaint because of a bad suture job. It insists restorations be made in coffee. Janeway doesn't like that, to put it mildly.

Nah, just joking.

Janeway is asked to serve as an intermediary in peace talks between long time sworn enemies that are tired of fighting. She does so by showing them they actually have much more in common than they think- they share a lot of the same values, but just have different interests. She suggests that, after the initial peace treaty is concluded, they start working together, on small projects at first, based on those shared values, to gradually strengthen trust between the two parties. On board, the EMH is instructing Kes in 'time honoured ways to practice medicine' for the eventuality most of the ship's technology (including himself) is unavailable.

Next episode: Remorse

“Remorse” - When Voyager is attacked and the bridge is destroyed by a Hirogen bounty hunter in a targeted attack, killing the relatively young night crew, a sense of remorse sets over the crew as they work to rebuild the bridge. Tom and Harry regret talking themselves out of the night shift duties that they were supposed to do. While the Maquis crew regret not leading a mutiny, with their stance coming from a position of empathy for the Starfleet crew. And Janeway mulls if she should step down and leave command to someone else to get the ship home faster.

Next episode: “Emergency Medical Hotheads”

Emergency Medical Hotheads
With an increase in his own leisure activities, plus a rash of injuries, plus the affair of Jetel, that ensign who bit it because the Doc was treating Harry... the EMH decides that he needs help. Starfleet sends over two copies of the original un-evolved EMH Mark I, each of them specializing in certsin aspects of medicine. Mayhem ensues with three irascible Picardo clones arguing incessantly.

Next: Doing the Impossible

Why would they do that instead of just sending them one or two mark 4's? (Yes, I understand, because of the title of course, but in-universe I mean). We know that can be done because Zimmermann proposes so in Life Line.
They had only a minute and 47 seconds before the transmission window closed, and couldn't secure a Mark IV in time.

Doing the Impossible

In a wild dream, Harry Kim has a novel idea for a new type of transwarp propulsion. When he works out the theory behind the idea, he finds that the mathematical description of this drive implies that it could only possibly work when you assume prime numbers don't actually exist. This, of course, is absolutely bonkers.

But Harry still can't let go of the lure of designing a new drive despite the obviously fatal flaw. He goes on and builds a test model anyway. To everyone's astonishment, all tests work perfectly despite the theory saying they shouldn't, and they now have a ten minute ride home.... if they want to. However, if they go home, they know that the mere existence of this engine (now dubbed the 'impossibility drive') will throw most of Federation mathematics and physics in a science crisis the likes of which have never been seen before. What will they decide?

In our B story, Neelix makes a palatable dish.

Next: An Apple A Day

"An Apple A Day" - The Doctor is perturbed when the crew of Voyager seem to be unusually healthy - no illnesses or injuries - ever since they began incorporating a strange new fruit Tom discovered into their diets. His attempts to study the fruit's properties are continuously hindered by the crew, who distract him, turn off his program, and even discuss shutting him down for good, as they don't need him anymore. He finds a surprising secret ally in Tuvok, who pretends he has eaten the fruit in order to determine what's wrong, but hadn't immediately let this on to The Doctor. The fruit was genetically modified to make those who ate it suitable for consumption and unable to live anywhere but the planet on which they found it - in other words, to acclimate livestock to the planet's environment in order to feed apex predators who live there.

Sealed With A Kiss

Mysterious ingredients that Neelix procures for one of his dessert recipes has unintended amorous effects on him when he handles it, causing him to have lustful inclinations towards any and all of the uncomfortable Voyager Crew.

Next Episode: A Child's Laugh, A Parent's Tear

"A Child's Laugh, A Parent's Tear" - A Morusian mother recognizes Seven of Nine as the Borg who assimilated her young son and hopes she can help her find him, or communicate with him. Seven is bewildered by the unconditional forgiveness that the Morusians have extended towards the Borg who killed and assimilated their loved ones, and is reluctant to participate in a healing ceremony they wish her to attend. She processes her uncomfortable emotions with the help of the crew. Meanwhile, the crew help Naomi make a "Dear Daddy" scrapbook of her life on Voyager to send to Greskrendtregk.

"Minority of None"

A Story
: Voyager is studying a distant star on the verge of going nova when an unexpected anomaly pulls the ship inside its unstable core. Within the anomaly, they discover a hidden, starving alien colony trapped in the star’s collapsing gravity well, having fled a destroyed homeworld. Desperate for aid, the aliens are entirely dependent on the anomaly's energy for survival. While devising a plan to assist them, Voyager uncovers a shocking revelation: the anomaly is somehow connected to the Bajoran Wormhole near Deep Space Nine. If they exploit this connection, they could break through and finally return to the Alpha Quadrant. However, doing so would destabilize the anomaly and annihilate the alien colony. With time running out as the star approaches nova, the crew faces an impossible decision. In a climactic moment of sacrifice, Janeway orders Voyager to sever its connection to the wormhole, directing all their resources to stabilizing the anomaly and saving the aliens. Voyager remains stranded in the Delta Quadrant but with renewed purpose, proving once again that the principles of Starfleet outweigh even their deepest desires for home.

B Story: As Voyager grapples with the alien colony's plight, Neelix organizes a "heritage week" aboard the ship to celebrate cultural diversity, inadvertently sparking tensions among the crew. Seven of Nine feels isolated when her suggestion to share her Borg experiences is met with unease, while B’Elanna Torres wrestles with feeling "not Klingon enough" during discussions about her heritage. The alien colony’s struggle serves as a poignant reminder to the crew that everyone can find themselves in a minority position, fostering deeper empathy and unity by the end of the episode, as they learn to celebrate their collective diversity.

Next Episode: "More Coffee"

"More Coffee"- Janeway declares a shipwide moratorium on sleep until Voyager's crew have located a potentially fatal booby trap that will destroy the ship and all aboard. This follows a threat by a Heltheran isolationist splinter group who resents their people's contact with Voyager and wants to make a bold statement. One of the delegates aboard the ship is an agent of the splinter group, but which one? Meanwhile, The Doctor becomes concerned about the crew's deteriorating mental health during the moratorium and tries to aid them. He may best help them by staying away, because the trap might be in his program.
