I was just wondering what the concensus was on this episode. Personally I enjoyed even though the attacker was known upfront.
I've never been able to figure out what the point of that was in Nemesis. Early on it was implied that Shinzon had a longing for human females, and therefore was interested in Troi. But then it was really the Reman whose face she ends up seeing and it's the Reman she claims revenge on later in the movie. So who motivated the attack? Shinzon or the Reman. It's just sloppy. Not to mention it would have been a stronger parallel to Picard if Shinzon had focused his lust on Dr. Crusher. This could have been done in more subtle ways without resorting to some kind of telepathic rape.Good Will Riker said:
I honestly do not know what was going through that man John Logan's mind when he decided to revisit Deanna Troi's mindrape in "Violations" as a major plot point in Star Trek: Nemesis. Seeing it on the small screen was uncomfortable, but having to revisit that scene up on the big screen was deeply disturbing to a lot of viewers.![]()
