Various Series 7 changes - Do you Like

I wasn't sure how to title this, but when I talk about changes, I'm talking about those minor little things like changes in the theme song, Tardis set design, the look of the characters, etc. Just curious what were everyone's first impressions of these various changes so far.

For me, I like the new computer generated Theme, but I really did notice all the green. I wonder why they went with an everything green look, but the title sequence being computerized really made Doctor Who look up to date.

Also, (And the real reason for starting this thread), were they trying to bring back some of the RTD design? I noticed a lot of the orange back from before and I mentioned a few weeks ago I still didn't like Steven Moffat's Tardis design. It did seem like the designers finally touched it up and it looks like a Tardis control room again. As for the characters, I like Duvall's new look, but did they really have to go and slut up Amy as much as they did? Maybe I'm overreacting here, but it seemed like they wanted to bring back that pin up girl look and I'm not sure if it suits her anymore. I thought she was kind of beyond that. Other than that, my first impressions are good for the new season.

I don't think they "slut" Amy up at all (which is rather offensive, by the way). She was at a photoshoot; how did you expect her to look?

I liked Rory's new look. Very handsome!

Slut is a very strong word and it was the first to come to mind, and I apologize if it does offend anyone. That was not my intent. Probably "sex up" would have been a better term. I just thought she looked better before, but I'll probably get used to it again like I did before and it's all good.

The thing with the theme is that it's less 3D than the previous seasons, the text simply looks like Movie Maker text.

The only change that registered for me was the darker opening credits, and that's mostly because I thought my monitor had gone screwy. The new text effect was nice, though.

I do like the Tardis' control room, I can't really explain why, I just do.

I quite liked the new tweeked opening. Though I was a bit disappointing that the opening theme wasn't updated as well.

I prefer the previous opening, but the new one is ok expect for the new style for the title. It looks terrible, IMO. But who knows, it might grow on me.

The "green" in the opening sequence was too much, I'm hoping this is just an error.

The music and title were good.

I like all the other little changes so far.

I don't feel like they are slutting up Amy at all, remember what her job was on Day 1 of meeting her BTW, don't see them going any further than that.

When I watched, the new opening was predominately blue not green. Could it have been a mixing error?

They built another wall for the console room, and there's apparently an even bigger change coming to the TARDIS in the last half of the season.

I hated the new font/style of the new Doctor Who logo.

you know that the styling on the "DOCTOR WHO" part was only for this episode right? next week the title card will have scales for Dinosaurs rather than the skin of a Dalek like this week. i'm looking forward to seeing the variation on the DOCTOR WHO logo each week :)

I know now.

Hopefully that was the worst one.

I didn't spot any significant changes to the opening vortex imagery, apart from the new murky colour hue. Still hate the stupid lightning though. And the "DOCTOR WHO" title will change its "skin" for each ep? That should be cool, but the other titles seem kind of bland. Was also hoping for a new theme arrangement too, but didn't notice that had changed at all.

All this is really irrelevant to the actual content of the episodes, but it's always fun to see things change, for better or worse.

Agreed. Didn't like the changed titles - they just slapped a green filter on the vortex (making it look like up-scaled standard definition stuff) and changed the fonts. The actual "Doctor Who" now looks like it was swiped from an off-Broadway theatre, up in lights and all.

The Tardis has apparently been gussied-up, but we spent very little time inside for the premiere so they weren't really apparent. Various tours have shown the addition of the "spiderweb" wall and the extra bits on the otherwise FEATURELESS GREY METAL WALL they had, but they aren't seen here. However, you can just see that the Doctor has added a small rug close to the main doors, so people can wipe their feet as they come in. About time, really. :P

Also, few people noticed that when the Tardis "regenerated" in "The Eleventh Hour", the conspicuous and irritatingly overused creaky door sound effect went away. It returned at some point last season and continues here. I guess the Doctor just never oils the damn thing.
