I hope the :censored:ing writers are happy about that shit. :(

Yeah, I'm sure delaying Star Trek by five months was one of the major goals of the strike...

Maybe it wasn't a *goal*, but it's...collateral damage. Doesn't make it any less  worthy.

Meh, not a big deal. Obviously I want to see the film sooner rather than later and Angels and Demons scares the hell out of me, but I think over all this is going to be better for the movie. The whole Christmas Day thing never sat too well with me and this is the kind of high profile slot the movie deserves.

Why not release it Christmas 2008 and then The Making of Ster Trek in May 2009, followed by Trekkies: The New Generation Christmas 2009, then Revenge of the Trekkies . . .

I'd agree with the thousand voices crying out in terror part, but suddenly silenced? I don't think so. :scream:

Indeed. Silence us loud, opinionated bastards? Fat chance.

How are the letters coming folks? I'm up to #8. I've enlisted the help of my younger brother who is under the impression it's a sequel to the original Star Wars trilogy.

I just thought of something. If the film is completed a significant time before its released there could be big problems. The chances of major leaks increase. Scripts and footage appearing online.

I couldn't find a clever way to write the quote, so I just used the original! ;)

I can wait five extra months. It's not a big deal.
Of course I have no choice in the matter. So if it was a big deal to me, well, it still wouldn't matter.
Trek XI coming to a cinema near you May 2009.

But just imagine all the extra shit you and the other mods are going to have to deal with because of 5 extra months of waiting!

Meh, we'll get over it. Either that or our heads will explode. Much to the delight of some people I'd imagine.

We now get five additional months of the Trek XI forum, before it gets folded back into Trek movies.

I think I've finally found an outlet for my anger.

Yes, the mods.

I shall hurt them.

And I shall keep on... hurting them.

Did no one bother to read the first post? Its not rewrites. Due to the Strike Paramount needs to adjust its schedule.

Which really makes no sense at all, since the announcement is being made AFTER the strike has ended.

They went as far as to give the Dec. '08 date what seems like mere DAYS ago, but now that the strike is over they're moving the date forward FIVE MONTHS?

That just makes no sense.

If the strike was a real problem, they wouldn't have already given the Dec. '08 date to begin with.

I am surprised that Rick Berman has not been blamed for this yet.

Berman hasn't a thing to do with this.

Braga, on the other hand. Well, he's been culpable since Lucas hired him as a double agent back in the pre-TPM days.
