Has anyone actually notified the moderators? Or are you (generic 'you') assuming that they have the time to read each and every thread? Real life concerns always take precedence over this board. Using the 'notify' feature allows admins and supermods to step in when necessary.
Well I must admit I didn't, but I assumed (and I know, never assume) that someone had already done that given my post was a few days after the suggestion of merging.
And no, I didn't assume they read all threads, but a thread about a new book and the second from last book in the Vanguard series for that matter, then yes, I would have thought they would have poked their noses in to have a look.
