Vance's Schematics

Well, it's hard for me to be too sympathetic with anyone over the Knox. FASA has a near identical design to it, and it really just is a snubbed-tail Miranda in the first place. I'm willing to give credit, naturally, but it's a tough one to see anyone get in a wad about.

That's relative, no? For what its worth, based on my research ... post edited to comply with TrekBBS rules:

Ermm. .. my apologies. I'm going to assume it was the naming of the one specific person who hasn't already been mentioned by name in the thread that was the problem. So then, I'll repost it without the name if thats okay? So,, based on what I was able to find out, the KNOX is Todd Guenther's. The DETROYAT is Mike Morrisette's. The PYTHEAS is Aridas's. So, even though there was a question about the KNOX it turns out that the only one that's incorrect is the DETROYAT. It's good to see someone giving credit to people, since even though you're not doing these for profit I'm pretty sure the owners can still assert rights about displaying and recreating them anyway.

I updated the code for my gallery this weekend, which wound up moving all the TOS images into their own directory. Rather than edit a TON of broken links, I'll just forward everyone to the page at www.pixelsagas.com/gallery

Constitution (R) Class... finally.

Ah, the way we all want the Fed CX to look...

Vance, have you checked out Adam Turner's SFU thread yet?

Yeah, but I've been incredibly swamped. Even limiting myself to one ship a day, I'm barely making headway on everything ELSE I'm supposed to be doing. :S

The Federation (R).. based roughly on the Mastercom and Gizmotron versions, but with a secondary hull more sized to the FJ design, and with the additional firepower obviously added.

When you get a chance are you going to add TMP parts to your toolkits?

Set #6 is almost ready, actually. I'm just deciding if there's anything else I should add to it just yet. (Likely will add the Constitution secondary hull)

PS: Thanks again for adding the USS-Stern to your Gallery..it was cool and surprising to see something I designed show up there...

No worries. I'm a fan of inventive kitbashes that aren't uber-twinky. :)

Vance,

Looking at the Siva-class and remembering Khan's ambush on the Enterprise made me wonder: did anyone ever come up with "armored" linear warp nacelles? (Ones with little or no grillework/machinery exposed)

I used to have a phone and snail-mail correspondence with Michael Alexander (Solaris Designs, the NX-1701-A "Enterprise that never was" and KFX-1 and KFX-2 Klingon-Federation hybrid fan blueprints) in the 1990's. He came up with outstanding ship designs. His NX-1701-A concept looked like a late-23rd-century version of the Sovereign. I penciled an idea at the time which took his curvy, wing-like plyons and pseudo-Excelsior-like nacelles and put them onto a vaguely TMP-style Constitution-class ship. I called it the Volpraya subclass of the Constitution-class. (There was some slight resemblance to the model seen in Geordi's holodeck simulation during the TNG ep "Booby Trap":

I was wondering if you ever drew any post-TMP concepts like that.

I'm honored!
Pretty close too - I have no angle on the saucer rim, though, being as I used two Reliant top halves of the same diameter.

Great work, as always, Vance. BTW, I just made my way over to the LCARS Blueprint page for the first time in a while... congrats on being there as well! :D

Is there a schematic for the Sydney class available btw?
I know its a pretty obscure ship but I like those ships, they look very much like a sea going ships somehow. :D
