USS Titan 3D pic????

Cary,

We have come along way from where we were back during the contest. I am for one glad that you have fleshed your design
out the way you have. I was not one of my favorite designs
at first, but it to has grown on me.

NiteTrek is on a rant now... proceeding to track down my posts in other threads and flaming me. He obviously doesn't know me vewwy well, does he?
No, but I do, and that sort of comment is unnecessary, and you know it.

Both of you chill out - NiteTrek, this applies equally to you for your attitude displayed here. Sheesh, when the heck are you people going to stop comparing IQs about freakin' fantasies? It happens all the time around here, and for no good reason other than to say, "Mine's bigger."

Surely you're all adult enough to discuss this without all the childishness, innuendo and insults. Right? Now get the hell back on topic and discuss it, not each other.

I'm glad Sean's design won, it's awesome.

Some of the other designs were just bizarre, but Cary, I like your design in all ways but one, that extension to the bow of the ship. It just seems a little odd. Is it the deflector dish or some other kind of emitter?

I have no desire to hijack Sean's thread, but the short answer is that it's a massive long-range scanner. Think of the four-way scanner at the bottom of the TMP Enterprise's primary hull. The forward facing one was almost like a big "spotlight." Essentially, this is just much larger (more powerful, longer-range) version of the same thing.

One thing I particularly like re: Sean's design is that he, also, was thinking along those lines. He didn't give it a HUGE device like this one, but he did give his ship "TMP-ish" scanners top and bottom.

I have a series of these along the edges of the lower "dome" element (which is actually part of the prow of the secondary hull, but which is centered on the primary hull axis).

If you're interested in knowing more, here's the thread. http://www.trekbbs.com/threads/favlinker...amp;postmarker=
We should make an effort to keep this thread focused on Sean's concept. :)

Here is the latest Form Ellery on the Titan

"Sorry about the wait!
OK, after a long wait, here is the Titan... from the top and side at least. Other views will follow. Any opinions on the windows on the catamarans? They line up to the plans from the top but I am not sure how it works from the side. Anyways, attached is a medium res version and below are links to double sized versions (the same ones that are going to be used to create the master for a resin kit... more details on that soon)

Enjoy!

He's right, the windows on the catamarans are messed up. The decks would, ideally, be straight horizontally, and so would the windows.

Though, I suppose, that could be part of the Titan's multi-species amenities. Maybe some species prefers bulging floors, and two decks were set aside for them?

John Eaves just contacted me and I guess they (CBS) are going to be doing a road tour with the Titan as the Center. So he is going to be making a 6ft.
Physical model of the Titan based off of my design. WOW!!!

Wow! Awesome news! I can't wait to see that! Any idea on when this road tour might start, perchance?

(now, if we could just get a model kit of her....)

I just found out about it yesterday from the Director of Product Development for CBS Consumer Products. I will keep
all of you updated

Well, congrats again Sean... it's always fun to see something that came out of your brain become a reality, huh?

Sean, just a question of curiosity: could this ship replace the Akira in the future as the primary tactical vessel for a ship of comparable size?

That pod looks so tempting to replace with an Akira pod. :D

Awsome News :)

Cartoon show :D or actually a great number of things really :D * Model Kit im actually hoping for Myself :P

OK, that is pretty sick... having one of your designs "come to life" as it were. Congratulations!!

While a Titan series would be interesting, I doubt we'll ever see it. I think biggest possibility for the next series will be a TOS reboot, following the new movie, which I predict will be the biggest money making Trek film to date. :vulcan:

I don't like the way the nacelles face downwards, or the big "pod" on the saucer dorsal, or the shuttlebay dome on the fantail.

IMO I think it would be better if the dome and pod were removed, and if the nacelle pylons curved upwards and were longer.

No, what you're describing is called a Sovereign Class. It's already been done.
