That looks terrible.
It's so crisp and vibrant and... awful.
When I was privy to internal Discovery affairs, it was a 2k master. That was over a year ago, however. I doubt it's changed being as VFX heavy as it is. Even Marvel movies are 2k masters.
First thing you should do with a new TV is turn off all the image processing features, especially any motion smoothing or noise reduction.
It gives me a headache. I don't know what else to tell you...
Well, that's odd. I would've thought that the closer we get to our eye's resolution the easier it gets on the eye...
...maybe it's like the uncanny valley; if you get too close to it without actually reaching it, your brain sees something wrong. :P
Oh, your eye can tell the difference, both between 1080p and 4K, and between 4K and 8K. Beyond 8K, however, we're getting so close to our eye's actual resolution that I don't think it's worth going higher, as far as television sets go.

Is there some pressing need for her to get a name, that no matter how inventive it is, will loudly be shouted down by some portion of the fanbase? I have no problem with letting it go until it is necessary (possible Pike spinoff).
I don't see it being necessary at all.
All it will great is ridiculous debates in the fandom and many complaints. Spare me, please.
That will be resolved in a hundred years or so...
