USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

If Starfleet ditches a lot of the automation, they are going to need more people to run the ship.
That's a good in-universe reason, i was more joking that the two were being simply combined to get to the 430 "aligned with canon" number.
The set looks very touch-screeny rather than the hybrid design on Discovery that has more physical switches and dials mixed with screens.
Yeah, I liked how in "Sounds of Thunder" Ryhs flicked two sets of buttons in a well practiced way to arm the photon torpedoes.

Ya it looks just like the original layout just scaled up and expensive :D
I'm totally not seeing what you guys think it looks so close to the scraped JJ concept.

Nor do I. I imagine that it's because of the way the big wide window dominates the forward view of the set.

The stairs with the floating treads are placed the same and are similarly shaped to those of the original bridge - there are a number of details like that included.

If Daystrom had anything to do with Control, SF would have been even "more insanerer" to let him be involved with anything computer related.

His whole pitch was that M5 would prevent untimely deaths which were caused through dangerous space exploration.

He will successfully argue that Control acted the way that it did because people got in its way. The solution, therefore, will be to fix problem by introducing a fleet that can operate completely unmanned. No people in space, no problem.

It's only one shot, but so far I'm definitely liking it better than the JJBridge, which now looks way too bright and spotlighty when I watch those movies again.

I was also struck by just how small and cramped that bridge looks now compared to all the ones we've seen on DSC. Hard to tell if this new Enterprise one will be similarly huge.

I find the notion of us basement dwellers saying the Enterprise bridge looks like a night club pretty funny.

Lets be real people, none of us have ever been to a 'night club'
Heh ....
My liver would like to say it has never been in a "Night Club", but it would be lying through both of its inebriated lobes.
It had actually spent many hours, back during the late 70's and early 80's in several popular NYC bars.
(as well as a multitude of private clubs throughout its entire life)

Nerds were very popular in certain 'Specialty Clubs' back then.

i gotta say as much fun as its been seeing Pike in command of the Discovery it's going to be awesome seeing him in Command of the Enterprise. To Quote Kirk "My friends. We have come home."

Bridge!

OMFG! This looks so awesome! It's the TOS bridge, if the TOS bridge were designed in 2019! Note that it even has the meaningless blinky lights above the consoles. I LOVE IT!!!!
