USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

The azteching on this model is way too over done. It looks too much like rough patchwork. I don't like the claps hanging over the bussard collectors either.

It looks like it was modeled after a design out of a comic book.

Those super-long nacelles remind me of this:

I just watched it again on blue ray couple weeks ago. Awesome movie!
There is a non-zero chance they may actually finally green light the Spaceballs 2 sequel. Mel Brooks (still as sharp as ever) is on board if MGM finances it:

Listen to his interview. At 91 he still got it!

Okay, thanks. That image was from the Smithsonian site, but they didn't make things very clear as far as progression and details, in their 73 images. Looks like that was an earlier 'restoration'.

I believe that would be the early 1990s restoration with the emphasized grid lines. Yuck. :barf2:

The latest restoration is infinitely better.

It doesn't seem to look like that in the show and eaglemoss render. I think the game devs just did a poor job on the texture. It is a lot less obvious and haphazard.

Seems like there is plenty of fodder out there for a relevant and hilarious Spaceballs sequel.

Sad that we've lost some of the original stars. :(

Glad that Mel is still showing plenty of vigor. :techman:

Yes, they are two different technologies. Which again is irrelevant if those technologies are being used to perform the same function.

It's not irrelevant if the whole argument is about whether the technology behind the function is different, which was what I was responding to.

That one is from the game, not the show. Also the TOS model had claps as well, just a lot smaller.

Oh I know, I'm just pointing that out on that specific picture. Though the azteching on the ships on the show have been just as bad. And yes you are right but they also looked better.
