USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

Those are just regular skirts and boots. no mini or gogo.
If you look at the U.S.[insert branch] female dress uniform, you'll see a skirt and dress shoes, similar to most countries, as opposed to a miniskirt(skirt stops well above the knee), and gogo boots(in this conversation, used as slang for leather knee boots with a clunk heel, and of course, worn with a miniskirt)

It's true - Trek doesn't have a history. It has a continuity.

History is fixed and a given portrayal can be - accidentally or deliberately - inaccurate.

Continuity is malleable. A given creation can change it. Trek has done so repeatedly.

Keeping Star Trek profitable, OTOH, is not congruent with making it worthwhile as entertainment. The two things may or may not overlap.

I'm jealous. Before now, I thought only Scotsman privilege could earn a guy the right to wear a skirt.

At the end of the day, I'm satisfied with Discovery's interpretation of the Enterprise/Connie, but I think if they left it untouched it would have been fine too. These are pics of the 11 footer before it received it's restoration inserted into the movies. I think it looks great. Picture credits goes to Nick Acosta.

Oh man, best post in the thread!!

Still don't think those dresses qualify as miniskirts, according to Wikipedia miniskirts must end mid thigh, "no longer than 4 inches below the buttocks". Clearly those uniforms are longer than that. And if the Dress isn't mini than those shoes are just riding boots.

Oh gods, yes. Although Fans love kitbashing, but trek has done some awful, awful things with kitbashing. Recall the Yeager from DS9? Made by gluing the voyager prime hull on a raider hull? Not even remotely the same scale models and they did not even try to hide the raiders front. Gods that was bad
Oh you take that back about Yeager. She's purrty:

The Gagarin is without a doubt my favorite ship design from DSC so far, with the Buran/Yeager a close second. In fact, I like all the Battle of Binary Stars ships better than the Shenzhou, Discovery, or Enterprise...heh.

That one is the sheprad class and she is just sexy. The Buran/Yeager is the Cardenas class. I can not wait to get a better look at them and more info on them.

I only really like the disco, Shinzhou, and the Enterprise. The Buran was kinda neat looking. The engines are just like the Promethius. The Gagarin was okay. I didn't find it very memorable. Not much a fan of the rest, and almost all of the Klingon ships I find uglier than sin...I mean really fugly. Im sorry, I can't help it.

And the Vulcan ship was okay, if not uninspired.

What you find pleasing is a personal thing, hell we have people who think the DS9 Yeager is sexy.

The Gagarin wasn't half bad, yeah, given the DSC-style design constraints. The Buran almost looked like something out of Star Wars, though.
