The details are okay, I still don't like how squat it is.
Think of it as battlemode. In regular flight mode nacelle move closer together a bit and the neck stretches

Next you're going to be talking about how the deflector dish expands and the nacelle spikes and bridge telescope to explain the ship switching between the series and pilot versions in TOS.

Or Eaves just over designed the ship. IIRC he also designed the internals of the Sovereign Nacelles.
I have seen a lot of tech designs over the years. Rarely do they make it in to the show.
The new Enterprise is beautiful. Looking forward to the TOS re-release with all new sfx and this beauty edited in to replace the older design and bring TOS into Discovery canon.
I'm really let down by this Enterprise, and I feel like a crazy person saying that, because after I saw the JJprise I thought "Ugh. They should have let John Eaves design it." I like the JJprise better than the Discoprise. The Kelvin 1701-A is my second favorite Constitution class after the Refit.
I think we've seen detailed machinery behind the nacelle caps of the different ships in behind-the-scenes renders. And it's definitely visible behind the shuttle's nacelle caps.
Everybody has their favorites. Personally, I really like the Koerner-Prise. I had this one as my wallpaper for quite a while when it came out. Despite all the business, it has the proportions closer to the original than the Disco-Prise (which I also like).
I like Gabe's, but it's too harsh and Battlestar Galactica-ish. This one is my favourite fan design:
Are you saying that based on John's sketches, or the final product after the CG team got done making changes to them? If the latter, I'm not sure you can hold stuff like the bent nacelle struts against him...
