I don't even think it'll get a second Season.
Well, not with that attitude it won't.

they'll explain this with "alternating dimensions" etc.

Thankfully its not up to me - i'd cancel it before it even hit the screens. For me from what i've seen - its just a cash in and not loyal to the Prime Universe.
Yes, if they came out and said that it was - I wouldn't be the number one fan as I don't like this past Trek obsession - I really want them to get back to the Post-VGR/Nemesis years - just imagine all the characters they could reintroduce from TNG/DS9/VOY.So if it was a reboot you'd be fine with it?

meh....don't care about canon or anything else as long as the show is good. Hell, I bought into Starbuck being a female easily enough, I can buy into retconned Star Trek if it's good.
You don't like the obsession with the past... but you want a future series so we could bring back characters from past shows?Yes, if they came out and said that it was - I wouldn't be the number one fan as I don't like this past Trek obsession - I really want them to get back to the Post-VGR/Nemesis years - just imagine all the characters they could reintroduce from TNG/DS9/VOY.
Berman's last gleaming. That's either the name of a song or a drink. You don't like the obsession with the past... but you want a future series so we could bring back characters from past shows?
The big gain from doing a future jump was a blank slate, not tied down by what came before, and a fresh start, a la TNG. Seems wasteful to do it only to tie it into Berman's Last Gleaming.
Well they liked Voyager. Also, I wonder if people would still be happy with a post-NEM/VOY series if the setting and canon was all right, but the characters were meh.
If they decide to ever go back to post NEM/25th century era - they can count me out as I'm sure they'll have replicator wands that can materialize anything out of thin air; and mankind so well adjusted and in agreement they won't have to speak because everyone will be thinking the same way. Plus I'm sure the Bridge would be on big Conference Room where they can debate how right the Federation stance is - or debate how to disperse the latest particle of the week with there Deflector dish (YMMV)Yes, if they came out and said that it was - I wouldn't be the number one fan as I don't like this past Trek obsession - I really want them to get back to the Post-VGR/Nemesis years - just imagine all the characters they could reintroduce from TNG/DS9/VOY.

Not very utopian. What if you did post-NEM and put it into a world where the federation is actually in crisis and falling?
I hope they leave any appearance of the TOS Enterprise till the end of the series
