This is Discovery. Captain Whoever will run rings around the Connie. And many fans will cheer as TOS gets knocked down another notch.
If Stamets is in condition, Discovery would win. The Enterprise can't defend herself against random jumping. 80 years later the the Enterprise D couldn't hit that shampoo bottle in Arsenal of Freedom. Of course their firepower would need to be comparable, Discovery could just be throwing pebbles at them but they took out the Klingon mother ship so I think it is. Now if Stamets is comatose, then I'm with everyone whom says the Enterprise.
Define win: If win is to destroy the other ship, it's more likely Discovery would win. If win is to get the other ship to retreat, it's more likely that Enterprise would win.
The main tactics are as follows:
1. Discovery jumps around targeting and disabling Enterprise's impulse drive so it can live in weapons dead-zones and tear the ship apart without facing superior firepower. It similarly targets warp drive systems so it's not outrun.
1. Enterprise targeting Discovery's spore room to make it a science vessel easily targeted
2. Enterprise tapping into Discovery's computers to know where it will spore to next and be ready to fire.
3. Enterprise maneuvers in semi-random ways, such that post-jump, Discovery also has to re-target the ship, reducing the tactical advantage of the spore drive seen at Pahvo.
And new Tactics:
4. Enterprise uses whatever Admiral Cornwell's fleet had and immediately boards Discovery with her shields up and takes out the bridge and spore room

With the Spore Drive, Discovery wins. Without it, the Enterprise wins. So, the Enterprise takes out the Spore Drive... and wins. It'll be tough but once they do it, they do it.
But you forget - if ANYONE on the Enterprise can come up with a firing solution to the Spore Drive Jump pattern, it's MR. SPOCK.
That is basically what I was thinking. If USS Discovery tries to do its dozens of jumps trick to keep going around USS Enterprise....it will be a preprogrammed jump path....not Stamats picking where they go from second to second. Such a thing will have a pattern, and Spock is great at picking those things apart. I don't know who the gunner would be on Pike's ship at this point, but science officer Spock under Captain Pike, would most certainly be able to come up with a firing solution so that at least some phaser shots intersect with where USS Discovery will end up being. If not a half dozen photon torpedoes. The question is, would the Spore Drive remove those weapons from existence when it spools in, or will it take damage as it enters reality? Or will Spock's calculations be enough to time the phaser/torpedo spread to impact right as the ship finishes spooling in?
This is why the Enterprise has to take out the Spore Drive. Damage Discovery, then take out the Mycelial Network while they're disoriented.
