Assuming we see the Discovery de-commissioned in the the series finaleThe Discovery may not even still be in service by 2267, and the new series would have to run 12 years to confirm it.

TOS fans don’t like anything.
They’re the grouchy old men of the franchise, shaking their fists at all the young kids on their lawn...
So? Are you saying no elements from TOS can appear in other productions? That's absurd.
Sure it did. We just saw a season long storyline about it. It happened prior to TOS so how could it show up on TOS?
You do realize events can be added to the timeline of the universe before, after and in between TOS, right? Because...fiction.
No it isn’tWell considering that DSC is yet another alternate reality in Star Trek
yes it is a visual reboot, but not a lore reboot. At the very least, it's a different visual continuity
It matters, that much is obvious.Well considering that DSC is yet another alternate reality in Star Trek, it doesn't matter one bit to me!

What about the lore is being rebooted? The characters and events are the same, the visuals have been updated to a modern aesthetic.yes it is a visual reboot, but not a lore reboot.

Is that enough to claim that the series should exist in it's own timeline? Quite possibly![]()
Not sure how that connects to what I said.Well you'd think that but to be honest I'll never buy the series if it comes out on DVD like I've never purchased Enterprise either! I'm only really interested in the Treks that I have sitting on my shelf and I'm only posting about this one now because it's currently on Netflix and the like! Once it's over I'll probably never watch it again so...
JB
Maybe it's own timeline has changed due to the effects of the temporal cold war as seen in ENT! That might explain the great differences between TOS and DSC?
JB
In your opinion, not in fact.Oh yes it is!
JB
Oh, the producers may CLAIM it's in TOS continuity, but...it's a parallel universe. In your opinion, not in fact.
