Starfleet's so broke they'll make the door out of wood from the flying rain forest...
Like Kirk in TWT: ...and second... *waves hand* ...close that door!I have a feeling they'll probably add a programmable matter door to the shuttlebay. I can imagine Starfleet looking at the Discovery's shuttlebay door staying open and they just shake their heads in disbelief. Probably will order them to keep it closed for now on.
A solid door for the shuttlebay would be nice.
That's a reused shot from Season 1 with new FX.If you check episode 5, in one of the shots that shows the USS Tikhov sitting below Disco saucer, and the camera looking at Disco from a right aft lower angle... you'll notice you can't see inside the shuttlebay because its been closed.
In season 1 the doors were always closed. Its possible Disco always had these doors but usually kept them open unless for dire situations.
Discovery already has shuttlebay doors which can be closed.

I won't complain if I'm wrong. Not having shuttle bay doors (closed) was always a stupid thing.I think the outside might look different as well. Given all the exterior footage of Discovery in the season trailers is pre Die trying, we might be in for a surprise.
Nah, Reno needs to walk over to a panel, hit a button and close it. Followed by a snarky comment. (Probably at Stamet's expense.)Refit-crew:.....And next on the list is fixing that always-open-shuttlebay-door of yours.
Saru:....... That's not normal???
I guess they're giving her the "-A" as a homage to the "Enterprise-A" for refit.Welp...seems like she got those upgrades...but why they add the A to the registry?
But that wasn’t a refit. That was a completely different ship.I guess they're giving her the "-A" as a homage to the "Enterprise-A" for refit.
So in all this time, they didn't use "Discovery" again for other StarShips or if they had, they're WAAAYYYY past "-A"?
why they add the A to the registry?
Hide it from whom though? Who gives a damn if some random ship faked its death 700 years agoTo hide the fact that Discovery wasn't destroyed in 2258 like the official records would show?
Now, Starfleet gets to claim it's a different ship. Plausible deniability.

Or the timeline might have changed.I wasn't expecting the A designation on the same "retrofitted" ship.
Calypso now has a continuity error right?

As long as it is explained, that's fine - but they set the expectation of Zora developing on board the ship - you'd have thought it would have been planned for.Or the timeline might have changed.
