Lots of great ones... I went with Laura's, for a couple factors:
1) I have a bias toward newer artists (love to encourage him)
2) I also have a bias to hand-drawn or "real life" art. (Not that I dislike the others -- but seeing those other types is great, and I want to encourage it)
3) I thought the concept was creative

But I always feel like the Trek BBS Art contest are like AMerican Ninja Warrior --- you have your favorites, but are always excited when someone succeeds

Unfortunately our home internet has been down for all of the week, so I'm posting from the iPhone, which makes it a lot harder to post longer things. So, sorry for the delay on the new contest. Give me some time to mull about a new theme and I will post a link to the new thread here.

For what it's worth, as far as I can tell both @Cyfa's and my entries were hand-drawn.

Not unusual to have someone win twice in a row.

True. According to my handy list here (sorry for the plug ) it happened eight times since 2004: twice for @The Axeman, twice for @Klaus, twice for @Ptrope and one time each for @Starscape and yourself, @B.J.
