Untitled Star Trek - Discovery project

The number of people who take great pride in declaring that they are huge assholes never fails to amaze me.

It's really not something I think an individual should be proud of.

Different strokes I guess?

Anyway, I always appreciate skuttlebutt.... but like others have said, it's hard to take anything seriously unless there's some official announcement or proof.

Regarding a DSC movie....I'm not sure that's a great idea to be honest. I love the show, but I can't imagine that there's a broad enough audience out there who knows anything about it. And those who do know about it probably wouldn't all want to go see a motion picture when you can watch an entire season of movie quality episodes for 6.99.

Source from CBS?

You know there isn't an official source yet.

The link below was called Star Trek - Enterprise first and then changed to Strange New World. If you only believe in official announcements, you believe in very little. If you believe in simply deducing facts from as many sources as possible, you perhaps get disappointed more, but are so more open minded. I belong to that last category. I believe the production page for Star Trek - Enterprise/Strange New World is the production page for the Pike show. It's the only unannounced new Star Trek show that everybody, including people like Kurtzman, keeps talking about for many months now. In theory, it could be a different show, but most likely: this is the Pike-show. You don't have to believe it, but I do. It doesn't make your disblief or my belief less valid.

It has nothing to do with me being disappointed or not, or open minded or not. My feelings are irrelevant. I asked for an official source for your info and you don’t have one. You answered my question.

Correct, which doesn't make it so...

Paramount isn’t making the film, CBS Television Studios are. But it’s for Paramount, as it was called “Untitled Paramount Project” on Production Weekly until today.

Has CBS Television Studios ever made a feature film and would this movie be made for All Access or for the cinema?

I don't mind declaring my feelings, which are that I nearly completely ignore any "news" unless CBS releases an official announcement.

Anything else is just rumor, foolishness, or speculation someone is framing up as more possible than it really is.

That doesn't mean I don't find it fun or interesting. But I don't pay it any legitimate attention or devote any time to it other than an amused passing glance.

Unfortunately it doesn't say anywhere. I think it being for CBS All Access is logical. It maybe needs to go through Paramount because they want to do a limited theatrical run, and CBS Films no longer exists as a theatrical distributor.

Star Trek - Enterprise/Strange New World is the production page for the Pike show.
This appears to be a different project. "Star Trek: Enterprise" (now listed as "Strange New World") is a television series, and "Untitled Paramount Project" (now listed as "Untitled Star Trek: Discovery Project") predates work on "Star Trek: Enterprise" and is a movie.

According to your completely unsourced ramblings, which hold zero substance.

I find it interesting how in the age of original streaming content, there’s very little difference between an episode of a tv show and a movie. Since there’s no commercials and no set running time for any particular episode, you could have a series finale run 3 1/2 hours and call it a ‘movie’ when it’s really just a very long episode. Or heck, just do what Ref Dwarf does occasionally: make a feature-length episode and call it ‘season ten.’

Well, for the rest of this year, probably running in to next.. Release in Theatre will be very light.. becuase .. well there will be nobody attending it.. So for a limited future, alot of "Theatre" movies will be realeased to streamers instead.
Now I have no problem with there being a "Made for TV" movie, or a "Home video Release" type of star trek movie, hell, my preference for a Pike series would be like Sherlock, 3 90 minute movies that count as the season.. where they can come in for a shorter amount of time, and be able to be with there family back in LA ( Which I think is what Mount has a problem wiht.. being away to long from Family)

But Wuhan changing up things, we'll see when they start back up productions, probably latter this summer.
