Unrealized Stories From Throwaway Lines

Droxine to Spock: I will go to the mines....I no longer wish to be limited to the clouds. (TOS "The Cloud Minders")

Hopefully she changes her outfit first. Diana Ewing looked fabulous in the sparkling gown, but came across as a bit of an airhead...I'd like to see her character develop a side of herself she didn't know she had. Droxine, inspired by her interest in Spock, persuades her father to reform the extreme injustice in Ardana's society, perhaps with the help of Vanna who was quite the spontaneous mediator. Maybe they work together.

Kirk and Nurse Chapel in the Kelvin Universe. A world where Spock was taken, attentions went elsewhere... (this works a lot better with Jess Bush's Chapel from SNW)

“Fine, perhaps they’ll find you as tasty as they did their past associates”

-Picard, regarding the Ferengi in Encounter at Farpoint

From “Time’s Arrow”. When Data is explaining that Lore’s brain had a type L phase discriminator amplifier while Data’s brain was outfitted type R, Picard’s reaction to type R indicated that there more to the story regarding type Rs. As in Picard’s days before commanding the Ent-D.

Reading the descriptions for phase discriminators on Memory Alpha, its used in transporters, photon torpedoes and sensor arrays among other things.

Hmm.

No, they mention it in the tie-in novel. In the season itself, they're implied to be Maddox's own versions of Data presumably capable of all he was.

When Picard goes to meet Jurati at the Daystrom Institute she says that they (the institute) had never been able to create any androids like Data.

She said they got close, but then they were shut down. Meaning the Androids on Mars couldn't have been 'Data-like'.

The ones we see later in the season were created by Maddox after the attack on Mars.

Jurati: Ultimately, B4 wasn't much like Data at all. In fact, no other synth has been.

Picard: No.

Jurati: And there's the rub. No one has ever been able to redevelop the science used to create Data. Then came Bruce. Maddox. He recruited me out of Starfleet. Despite Data's death, we came so close. Then we got shut down, and it crushed him.

Picard: Where is he now?

Jurati: He disappeared after the ban. I've tried to find him, but...

Picard: You said "despite Data's death," meaning that any new synthetic would have to be made from Data.

Jurati: Advanced ones, yes. If you had Data's neural net, perfecting a flesh-and-blood host body would be relatively simple.

Picard: But his neurons died with him.

Another reason why the admiral had it wrong when he tried to take Lal away from Data... Data had been the most successful in replicating himself yet. So he should have arranged for Data and Lal to be transferred to Earth, Data to head up the project, and Lal so that the learning process for a newly built positronic brain could be closely studied.

I think that happened in one of the What If novels, where Lal didn't die.

"The Embrace of Cold Architects". Lal is saved because the events occur sooner and Noonien Soong is present to assist in the surgery. However, Admiral Hapless still separates Lal from Data, forcing the latter to resign from Starfleet.

Possibly a conference, or peace/tradetalks on neutral ground? In any case, they wouldn't make it back in time, so it must've taken some time to get there.
