Unintentionally Funny Scenes

Locutus of Bored

Yo, Dawg! I Heard You Like Avatars...
In Memoriam
What are some scenes, from any of the series or films, that were not intended to be humorous, but for whatever reason turned out to be funny to you.

The scene that prompted me to start this was from TNG 'Arsenal of Freedom,' where in order to protect Tasha from the attacking drone, Data chucks her about twenty feet off of a tall rock into the jungle. Sure, she's alive, but she'd probably break her legs if not for the mattress hidden down on the jungle floor.;) I also like that he just leaves Riker to slowly crawl over the rock to safety on his own.

What are some of your unintentionally funny scenes? Let's try to avoid saying "Any scene from such and such series or movie" to avoid starting any Trek holy wars, please.

Plus, it becomes very obvious that we see Brent Spiner's double in the distance shot. ;)

As for other unintentionally funny scenes, I always loved this classic bit from "Space Seed", where Shatner accidentally drops his phaser and De Kelley tries to shove it away.

For some reason, I find Geordi's ride in the malfunctioning turbolift in TNG's Contagion amusing. :D

Perhaps it's the music? :p

When I was about 13, and TFF had just come out, a friend and I laughed hysterically at the part where Sybok says "We have traveled far!" That summer, his parents drove us out to six flags over Texas and I got out of the car when we arrived and shouted that out. We laughed about that for days. And then we started doing it every time we went somewhere. God, we must have been annoying. :guffaw:

I never noticed that about Space Seed! Another unintentionally funny scene from that same episode was Kirk's fight with Khan in the engine room, simply because of how badly they camoflaged the stunt men in that scene.

*Geordi's Turbolift ride, its just insanely amusing and his composure when he reaches the bridge

*When Picard shouts "There are FOUR lights!!" (torture ain't funny, but the way Stewart delivers is quite amusing)

* "Where are you??!" (everything involving Troi in that episode is so terrible its funny)

* When "Carnival" begins in "Return Of The Archons", How all these polite people just suddenly turn into maniacs

* The way Janeway says "Vegetable Bullion"

- The female prostitute beat the sh^t out of Kira in Invasive Procedures, even though Kira attacked her first!

- A cute, petite blonde beating up a guy a lot bigger than her in 10-Forward in Sarek.

-
We find out late that Hoshi is a marshal artist or something who broke her instructor's arm. That's what makes her struggle against the Suliban in Broken Bow so amusing

*When Sisko smashes the panel on the table and quickly changes his facial expression so he's neither angry nor happy, its quite amusing in a weird way

*Any time Quark or any Ferengi let out a high pitched scream while in distress, Its actually hilarious and I don't know if its meant to be

I don't think the martial arts scene between Riker and his father in TNG The Icarus Factor was supposed to be funny, but I found it absolutely hilarious. It's quite rare that I actually laugh out loud when watching Trek, but during that scene I did.

Yes, that's good for a laugh around my house--mostly because the most dangerous martial art in the galaxy is basically dressing up like a power ranger and whacking each other with pool toys.

"Dammit Will, drop your shields" from the same ep gets a big laugh too.

I get a big kick out of, "They're carving us up like a roast!" It's just such a bizarre thing to say as your fellow crewmen are being killed.

Also, Worf looking annoyed at people...particularly the way he was glowering at Mendok (the blue guy with the menthol breath).

And, (though I hate to say this), "He's only sixty!"

:eek::rofl:

It brought me to tears.

WAIT! Did you really have to ask why Data would throw Tasha down to a mattress and leave Riker behind? :vulcan::p

There's a scene in "Sins of the Father" where the Klingon Kurn is eating and Counselor Troi asks him how he's adjusting.

He said he found it somewhat difficult, and just a few moments ago he had to stop himself from killing Commander Riker.

Troi lets out an awkward laugh, which becomes even more awkward when Kurn keeps talking as if that wasn't meant to be a joke.

Which came out somewhat funny-in a weird way.

The other is when Geordi says to Kurn "you do understand we cook most of our foods?"

It just came off as "you savage barbarians do know we cook our foods, right"?

It came off funny - in a weird way...
