But, a lot of the literature out there treats it as gold. Regardless of production values, there is still how people saw it.
Yeah I went back and watched a TOS HD episode to see if maybe I was just not remembering correctly. And yep still looks gold to me. If your head canon says its green, then that is your prerogative. I still like to think that the Klingons always had the ridges, despite what the canon says.Because they say the skies are pink, and they write as well doesn't mean they be pink forever. Sooner or later people will judge what they see with their eyes, and they're eyes will see it's true colors. Glad I have them on HD and not color corrected to ruin the nice colors the production team done. It looks great. Far better than NTSC.
It looks gold in TOS Remastered as well. We see gold, they call it gold, it is gold.
Yes, in NTSC it looks more orange, but HD is still not green.Look and see:
Image on HD that presents the true image of the uniform:

Or they could use it as dress uniforms, and create something on-par but a little new.If the new show is really set after TUC they should just use the TWOK uniforms. They're timeless classics IMHO.
Just to complicate the matter, real gold can often look greenish.People know that it wasn't the true color of the uniform, that doesn't mean it's canon. And there are plenty of screenshots on Trekcore that show the colors still looking yellow/gold, even in HD.
And gold mixed with copper (because the jeweler is a cheat) can turn your skin green over time.Just to complicate the matter, real gold can often look greenish.
Canon as in what appears or is heard in a actual episode.Canon??? Like what someone said or mentioned?
And the whole outfit looked like it would be VERY hot under studio lights.Different materials could be nice, with less wool and something a little more comfortable and practical. I didn't mind the duty jacket over turtleneck concept, but the materials are just too stiff for daily use, in my opinion.
Keep in mind that TOS already had four colors, Kirks wraparound was supposed to be the same color as the regular one but looked completely different and in my version green would be worn by barely anyone like in the TOS setup. So the only new color would be purple for medical and that's close to blue, it doesn't make such a big difference.No. More than three colours would look like a circus.
