It doesn't need evidence when obvious that it is a joke https://www.lyst.com/clothing/gucci...on=search-product&product_overlay_uid=JQGSXLU
While I would prefer them to use something at least very similar to the Cage/WNMHGB uniforms, I have only two real criteria: 1) Can we have (day-to-day) uniforms designed to 'comfortable and practical' first, and 'look good' second. Uncomfortable dress uniforms on the other hand I have less problem with. 2) Can we have a bit more detail on 'whos who' department-wise in the uniforms? Whether it's different colours, badges, patches or whatever, it should be possible to at minimum tell the difference between pilots/bridge crew, engineers, security, medical staff and researchers (Sciences).
At $600–$750 a piece? Because that's what these Gucci are worth. I don't know about Fuller but I know you're joking!
The retail price is not what the production of DSC would pay, so they wouldn't actually cost a fortune.
Not sure what the mark up is or what deal they would have to make with Gucci, but I don't think it's something reasonable. Probably cheaper to design and make their own.
We may actually never see the uniforms in the TOS pilots at all. The original DS9VOY uniforms can best be described as simply a variant uniform, IMO. Maybe they were eventually intended to be the new standard uniforms, but they ultimately ended up as a short-lived variant. It's also possible that they were ultimately an interim uniform between the ones in TNG and First Contact.
Well, I guess they would probably satisfy my comfort requirement anyway. Although I doubt that the Gucci would used for the entire cast even if they are doing it. Probably on the main cast and maybe a few of the more prominent recurring guest stars (ala Colm Meaney or Dwight Schultz for TNG). Can't see them using them for the extras?
Gucci for you and Gucci for you and for you! Gucci for everyone! http://m.quickmeme.com/img/8f/8f3e33df8a83ddbb788f21212240c4b58d9ae27deb1771ccaf3f9b8e902c4585.jpg
Design work is a maybe but it would likely be produced in house, since the studio undoubtedly already has a wardrobe department.
John's the leader so he's command. Paul is savvy so he's Science. George was almost an electrician, so he's Operations. And Ringo is.....?
