Unforgettable Un-cancelled!

But it was awful.

I stomached 4 episodes and then ran.

I thought about giving it another try but, with the bugger being cancelled it just seemed like corpseraping.

Maybe they'll actually GO to Syracuse during this new season and not depict the city as some fairly tiny, Mayberry-like town. While Syracuse is not NYC or LA, I thought it was very odd how they went to the trouble of having an episode supposedly take place in Syracuse, but not showing anything that resembled the city where my old alma mater sits. No Dome? No 'Cuse? No Orangemen? No Lake Onondaga? No Erie Blvd.?

....... No Varsity Pizza?!!??

The interesting thing is that CBS decided to forego a shot at more revenue for that hour just so that it could keep basic cable from picking up some more audience. I've meant to take a look since Jane Curtin joined the cast, but it's not certain everyone's returning. Or so I gather.

Good. The whole team should be scrapped except for Dylan Walsh and Poppy Montgomery. The rest of the characters were so boring.

I figured that would happen. Body of Proof jettisoned most of it's supporting cast when it barely got picked up for another season. Probably a budget saving move.

Did they run out of reality show filler?
This. I never watched a full episode so I have no real opinion of the show. However, the fact that there isn't some lame singing/dancing or foot race show to try out says something.

I suppose once shows about chasing bigfoot, swamp people and the 4th iteration of Housewives has been done not even another storage wars or lonely bachelor is worth attempting....just uncancel the last show.

Thank goodness! I was getting concerned and dismayed over the lack of gimmicky cop shows on TV.

I was sometimes watching it...but thought it was very 'meh'...and so when it was cancelled I was almost kind of relieved. I liked Poppy Montgomery very much in Without A Trace and sort of felt bad about the idea of bailing on her show so close to the beginning....until it was cancelled anyway.

So now I'm wondering if I can unread this thread. Cus I really don't want to watch that show. Although it might be better once they get rid of some of those characters, which were WAY boring.

It's unbelievable that such an unabashedly unremarkable mass of undulating unworthiness could be uncancelled, even on a network as unfaltering in being uninteresting as CBS.

Seriously though, I tried to hang with that show through the first half of the season because I like Poppy Montgomery, but it was just awful.

Haven't seen it, but chances are that it would be better than most of the shows on basic cable. Plus it already has millions of people who watch it. CBS can afford to take a flyer on a new show that might bring in more revenue. A lot of people won't try it because it's not really new, even if the show is revamped.
Again, I think it's clear that CBS is counterprogramming to crush other networks. They don't want a basic cable to pick up a show with any sort of fan base.
