I wanted to like Spanglish but I can't stand Tea Leoni in it. She's just nails on a chalkboard the entire time and I keep hoping that Sandler will leave her but he never does.

I've never understood the appeal of Tea Leoni as anything but eye candy. Hollywood for a long time tried to market her as the second coming of Lucille Ball.

I definitely see her appeal. I caught reruns (at least I think they weren't the original airings) of the Naked Truth and thought she was very good, and I have enjoyed most everything I have seen her in. I think she is very comedic-ly talented and have always hoped she would get more high-profile gigs.

You know, I'm probably alone here but I've always really liked 'True Romance' and it always seems to get overlooked. I think what I like best is that the main story and characters aren't even he major appeal of the movie. It's all the endless procession of *big* name character actors who each totally steal their respective scenes and are never seen again. Hell, Brad Pitt steals every scene he's in without ever even getting up off the sofa. ;)

Yep, and you'll be shocked to learn that he plays an aristocratic vampire elder . . . ..

For what was essentially a bit part in one film I thought he did a great job, rivaling Nighy's performance as Viktor, Dance just has that kind of acting presence.

I wouldn't mind him returning in the next two films as a lower key villain throughout.

True Romance is my fave Tarantino movie (even though he didn't direct it.

I can't stand Tea Leoni outside of Deep Impact. The roles she plays are all the same whiny, bitchy parts.

Forgot to add Wild Wild West to my list. I know it's a bad movie, but who cares? It's a classic in my book.

has anyone mentioned The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) yet? i know it takes a lot of liberties with the original story, but i always found it to be a very good film.

I love that one - it has the *feel* of the original, despite changing so much. It has some great duels, a nice supporting cast (Luis Guzman *not* as a gangster slimeball!), and a hilarious cameo from Michael Wincott. ("I haven't got all day. Well, actually I *have* got all day...")

I was rooting for the wave when it got her. The 90 million other people that got killed were acceptable losses if I didn't have to hear her drone on in a husky monotone again.

Yep, that's the thing, the husky monotone. Why anyone thought she could be a comedian with that flat delivery I'll never know.

Yeah, I've never been a fan of hers, but her annoying traits worked for me in Spanglish, because you were supposed to dislike her.

Another movie that I liked a lot but got little praise/success was The Matador. I really liked Pierce Brosnan as the drunken, depressed hitman, looking for a pal in average-guy Greg Kinnear. I love that kind of dark, twisted-yet-sympathetic humor.

Add me to the Daredevil bandwagon. And since it was on TV today She's Out Of My League is a guilty favorite.

Speaking of Pierce Brosnan, I really enjoyed 'Taffin'. A very gritty, violent thriller.

Yeah, that was a great movie.

Just remembered a funny movie no-one remembers: One Night at McCool's.
