uncomfortable w/ ENT

Hmm, there would have been less constraints because of what we already know will happen in the future. In a post Voyager timeframe, preferably a good chunk later, the writers would have had a chance to be more creative and shake up the "Trek formula" a bit more IMHO.

I think that the show made plenty of episodes that had nothing to do with Trek history and made up new history as they went. Not that the Expanse episodes were bad (I think they were good episodes, and an appropriate response to 9/11) but really, nothing like that ever happened in any previous show's future history.

Edit: They could have just as easily had the attackers be the Romulans instead of the Xindi and told the story of the Earth-Romulan war.

Oh, my -- these smileys are wonderful! :guffaw:
I got lots of 'em!
I never asked you this, but do you make them yourself?

Only saw a couple of eps of TAS.
And yet you missed the best episode of that short series. ;)

That's a very good collection. I might use one of them in the future. *bookmarked*

You really should. Yesteryear is widely acknowledged as the best episode of TAS. It was written by TOS goddess D.C. Fontana and features the very interesting backstory of Spock's childhood. Many (including me) even consider the episode canon.

I never really got a chance to watch ENT from the very beginning of the series run. I did however, catch it on Sci-Fi channel. I like the premise of the show being before everything else we've seen.

And it was finally nice to see an Enterprise that reminded me of the TOS ship. When it broke, Scott fixed it, and usually didn't give some long winded explanation about this, this, this, and this being the cause. Technobable was still present, but nothing like the other shows, and it was quite refreshing to me imo. It was just a departure from the norm (Albeit very slightly, thanks to the TPTB.) and was very enjoyable.

Actually, your description sounded familiar and I checked to be sure over at startrek.com. I have seen it. Just didn't know that was the title. It was a great episode. Poor young Spock. Nice kid.

but think of how all the important stuff that happened in tos is almost never mentioned in the other shows.

all the times the galaxy was saved ect..

but really they were doing some nice set up for the romulan war even though the studio wanted them to stay away from it due to during that time there was a chance they would do that romulan war move.
