so Uhura's a fourth year cadet right? So will we see her leave the Enterprise for a bit to go back to Earth to graduate? if so, will she be a one season character or will Ensign Uhura be back for Season 2.

From cadet to commander, she was on the Enterprise for 35-40 years.
Well considering in the 23rd Century human seem to live to 130 – 140 years...

Well, we don't know if she was there for the entire gap between TMP and TWOK, and she was definitely off doing other stuff for the 3 years between TFF and TUC.
Has it been established she was on the Enterprise the entire time between the ending of the tv show and TMP?
Not that I recall.
Nope - all we know is she was back on the Bridge coordinating some aspects of the upcoming early launch of the ship.
(She could have just arrived that morning; or been there the entire 18 months, and hell could have served under Captain William Decker <--- But that's all speculation.)
It's also been at least 2 and a half years since TOS, so there's another year before the refit starts as well.
