SULU: Surely not!

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Hold on. How many of those things are there? Come on, Lieutenant!

 

[Brian]

VALERIS: Just the prototype.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: You hear that?

 

[Brian]

SULU: I'm getting underway now. We're now in Alpha Quadrant. The chances of our reaching the conference in time are slim.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: When does this conference start?

 

[Brian]

SULU: According to my information, today.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Thank you, Captain Sulu.

 

[Brian]

SULU: Don't mention it, Captain Kirk.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Spock?

 

[LeadHead]

Spock: I prefer it dark.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Dining on ashes?

 

[LeadHead]

Spock: You were right. It was arrogant presumption on my part that got us into this... situation. You and the Doctor might have been killed.

 

[Brian]

KIRK: The night is young. You said it yourself. It was logical. Peace is worth a few personal risks. You're a great one for logic. I'm a great one for rushing in where angels fear to tread. We're both extremists. Reality is probably somewhere in between. I couldn't get past the death of my son.

 

[Leandar]

Spock: I too was blind. I knew about her - and I did nothing. I trusted too much. I was prejudiced by her accomplishments as a Vulcan.

 

[Brian]

KIRK: Gorkon had to die before I understood how prejudiced I was.

 

[Leandar]

Spock: Is it possible that we two, you and I, have grown so old and so inflexible that we have outlived our usefulness? Would that constitute a joke?

 

[LeadHead]

Kirk: Don't crucify yourself. It wasn't your fault.

 

[Brian]

SPOCK: I was responsible.

 

[LeadHead]

Kirk: For no actions but your own.
