TRUEBLOOD: The books, the comics and the tv series

well after watching season 3 of trueblood it seems the comics series tainted love is set after or during season 3.

Back when season 1 orginally aired i was blown away by True Blood.. this was no teenager vampire shit but Vampires as they should be.

Saw the pilot and the the next episode at a friends place and coincidentally he had the first book and i said screw it.. i'm gonna read it. Took me about half a day (it's not a very big book) and was spoiled for the major events of the first season but not disappointed at because those people produced one helluva show.

Although i was said that one vampire character from the first book didn't show up.. yes he was useless and yes, the reveal or realization would have probably killed the the serious tone of the show but damn i so would have liked to see him :lol:

Haven't read the other books but couldn'r resist to spoil myself a bit on Wikipedia.. maybe i'll get around to reading them.

trust me you should read the rest of the series. I have read the first six books and it is a great read. I plan to read the rest of the series later this year.

There's such a campy thread running through the series that I think that particular character would fit right in. They probably don't want to have t cough off the money for the image licensing rights.

Since a friend introduced me to the show last year I've got hold of the first three seasons on DVD and love it, but I haven't had an oppertunity to pick up any of the books or comics as yet. Anything featuring Jessica would be awesome though.

I just checked wikipedia and he does play a role in the fifth and seventh books, so maybe he'll be back in action by those seasons.

I'm pretty sure they should be. They're available for Nook, and if books are available for Nook then they are most likely available for Kindle too.

I've bought books 3-8 and 10 for Kindle. The ninth was unavailable for my region (Middle East) for some reason that's unclear to me ...

Amazon UK has most of the series on Kindle so I'll pick up the first book sometime this week and give it a read.

i have a question. i enjoy vampire stuff like Anne Rice novels, Buffy/Angel and Dark Shadows...so is True Blood something i would enjoy, or is it more geared to the Twilight fans?

if you love anne rice or buffy the vampire slayer you will love true blood. it's got gore and sex in it and it is nothing like twilight thank god. there is a several relation ships issues that do occur in the series but it's not as bad as twilight.

If you like that stuff you'd probably like True Blood. It's pretty much the anti-Twilight.

nice. i'll try and check it out over the weekend. thanks guys.

This is one that does have to go with the warning that it's not for the easily offended. It's got a ton of nudity throughout the seasons, and fair amount of gore.
