Tron: Ares

Why does Disney do these kind of decisions? People would have loved a proper sequel, or even just had references to Legacy and such. People would have loved it more
In the last movies the casts werent diverse enough. This one is. They basically are starting fresh with new characters not connected to n the original. Characters that will be hard to care for since they have little to no connection to the first two movies. Im guessing Jeff Bridges roll is a cameo. Maybe wile will get a good villain in the younger Dillinger this time. I would loved to have seen Flynns son and Quorras adventures continue. Just my opinion.

You may be right. Though it is up to the writers, director and cast to make us care about these characters, regardless of what came before.

Maybe but the end of the 2nd movie really set up a sequel with the characters of that film. We are getting something different. Also Tron himself doesn't seem to be in this one at all.

And that asks the actual question. Will Tron be in the movie? Obviously he would have to be CGI. And is he really be accepted as Tron if Bruce doesn't voice him? Movies and TV shows have recast characters many times over, but personally speaking, it would bug the crap out of me.

I'm calling it now: Jared's 'Ares' will pull a Rey Skywalker and rename himself Tron before the movie's over.

Or another version of that where Tron materializes as the one controlling the invasion, asking Ares to join him because he's Ares' father.

My best guess is Tron is not mentioned because they plan a secret reveal at some point that's plot centric ala Palpatine's return.

In the early days of the internet it became clear that everything has a fandom. But it’s evolved to every fandom thinking they are the center of the universe. That the communication with their own small community is reflective of mass interest. We have seen so many cases were that turns out not to be true.
That's true, I was just a little shocked by how many people I've seen online who are disappointed it's not a direct sequel to Legacy.
I am surprised they are making a 3rd Tron film at all. The original had a cult following and the sequel did not break out beyond that. Think of Blade Runnner. Original has amassed critical acclaim and cult following but did not make much money. The sequel did not change that.
Yeah, I was shocked when they announced this too, I had assumed once the Legacy sequel fell about the franchise was pretty much dead, at least in terms of movies.

Usually due to finances and trying to make things work based upon isolated feedback.

We don't know if people would have "loved it more" because we haven't seen this movie and don't know what a Legacy sequel would look like. We might have hated it.

Huh? It's a movie, lighten up.
Not one I'm inclined to see.

Back when I was still an undergrad at CSU Long Beach, seeing the teaser posters, and noticing that it was scored by Wendy ("Switched-On Bach") Carlos was a major box-office draw for me, and she was the perfect composer for the project. The only real disappointment out of that whole picture was in the end credits, when they cut away from her close music to some Journey song.

I've already given my opinion on this picture (several times, as it turns out), and on how T:L was a disappointment (especially musically), and T:A is likely to be an even bigger one.

He was forced to kill his clone in a gladiatorial fight to the death.
I think my interpretations were funnier. Did he end up getting arrested for making an obscene clone fall?
