Trekless :(

Before there were VCRs and DVDs and BluRays and God knows whatever form of re-run media exists these days, us old-timers used to go through series withdrawl by writing our own episodes.

You don't have to pen the next great sci-fi classic, just sit down with a pen and paper (yes, I did say a pen and paper and not a laptop computer) choose a character and just write about what an average day would be like for that character, what problems or joys would he or she face.

If writing is not your thing, you could paint or draw your favorite character or immortalize them in some sort of mixed-media artwork.

If you feel you’ve used up Trek, try the Stargate franchise. You’ve got the feature film, 10 seasons of SG-1 with two DTV movies, five seasons of Atlantis, and Stargate Universe now entering its third season. Not to mention the animated series. Oops, I just mentioned it. Sorry.

Should keep you busy for a while.

[...] Stargate Universe now entering its third season.
"Now entering" is a misleading statement. SGU is wrapping up the first half of its second season, and a third season renewal decision is still rather a ways off and will likely be decided only after Syfy has a chance to see how the first few episodes of the second half of season two fares in the ratings.

I remember that time well. I was born in 1970, ten months after TOS left NBC and went into reruns. When I was little, around the time TAS was new and TOS was in reruns, my mom used to tell me bedtime stories using the TOS characters. My favorite was the one where Kirk and Spock visited the planet made entirely of Hershey bars and ice cream.

books for sure :) here is a list of books I happen to be compiling for a friend who I would like to experience the "destiny" trilogy of books, worth reading in order..

enterprise - kobayashi maru
voyager - homecoming
voyager - the farther shore

destiny 1 - gods of the night
destiny 2 - mere mortals
destiny 3 - lost souls

crossover - a singular destiny

titan - over a torrent sea
voyager - unworthy
voyager - full circle
tng - losing the peace

typhon pact 1 - zero sum game
typhon pact 2 - sieze the fire
typhon pact 3 - rough beasts of empire
typhon pact 4 - paths of disharmony
