I think I'm experiencing something that a lot of you have been through before... I've finally finished watching all the episodes of all the 'trek series'.
TNG was on TV still when I was a kid and I remember watching it a lot though it was in it its final days when I started to pay attention to it and I saw about 3/4 of the series in reruns. Recently a bout of nostalgia caused me to seek out the entire TNG series and watch the episodes in order from beginning to end. This took me a couple of months and I was really pretty sad at the end. I just wanted there to be more and more... you really fall in love with these characters after a while. The movies were ok but I don't think it's any secret that only the first two TNG flicks were any good.
In an attempt to fill the void that I had created in my daily routine without having any TNG to watch, I then started on DS9 and watched ll of them in order over a period of a few months as well. I remember this being on TV when I was a kid too, and I had seen about half of them. I once again fell under the show's trance and wished there was more to watch.
Once again I found myself missing having a Trek episode playing in the background while I was on the computer, on my phone plugged in to my aux input in the car on the way to work, etc. I found Voyager, which I had never seen before, and watched the whole series over about two months. Yet again I grew attached to the characters and didn't want it to be over.
Finally, I found Enterprise and watched the entire series. This series I got through in about a week and a half. I really enjoyed this one quite a bit and felt as though it still had several years of life left in it. I couldn't believe it only lasted four seasons.
The recent Star Trek reboot flick was good and that held be over for a bit but now I'm stuck... Trekless... with this unyielding addiction to the franchise that just cropped up out of nowhere after never having really paid any attention to it. I don't really watch TV at all and now I'm left with this sense of really missing having a new Trek to watch every night when I go to bed, etc. Are there any hidden Trek gems I've missed that might keep me going for a little bit longer? Any other shows that might be worth looking into? Anybody got any ideas to recover from acute Treklessness?
Thanks!
