Trek t-shirts

I'm referencing this thread in a book I'm writing. The chpater is on not caring so much what others think of ya. I find it really surprising that so many Trek fans are concerned with what the world at large thinks.

I'm not condemning; just saying I'm surprised. The error was mine, in assuming. I was surprised esp. because this was posted after the new hot move, when Trek was cool for one brief shining moment. Like Camelot. Sigh.

I sometimes wear in public this T-shirt that I brought on Camden market, which depicts the Enterprise (or at least some stylised version of it) in a bottle. It hasn't drawn any unwanted attention to me so far, and I haven't been beaten up for wearing it....yet!

I posted these in another thread; AMT t-shirt iron-ons from the 1970's.

You'll notice the coupon at the bottom is intact; I didn't order these. I've never worn clothing with advertising on it (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I think this thread would be better served with some pictures. I boldly wear my Trek shirts in public. Here are my two favorite Trek shirts.

I do have one Star Trek polo shirt, which I've had for around 15 years now. It's maroon, got a TNG insignia, and on the back there is a picture of the Enterprise-D, with a larger insignia, and the words "To Boldly Go"

To the original question. The shirt is rather old now, so I only wear it on special times.

I used to have a t shirt in the same design as Hard Rock Cafe, only it was for Ten Forward. I liked that one since at first glance, people wouldn't notice it was Trek. Only real fans got it, so I found some good fans that way. Good conversation started. I actually stopped wearing it when it started shrinking. That's my story. The shirt got smaller, I didn't get bigger.

I do have a Star Trek necktie which I wear to work as often as any of my other ties.

I do wear my First Contact era uniform on the day when I introduce the astronomy unit to my students in science.
